I got mine today. Going to run some emulations and Steam games. Will also be installing CryoUtilities and the latest proton ge to improve performance and keep it running on Linux OS. Most people do not understand why some of us go for SteamDeck. Put simply, excellent software support (including OSS) and community is the reason for a SteamDeck. For the more tech-savvy and retro gaming laojiao, SteamDeck is the obvious choice.

i just walked into an Eletro Mart and there it was on display at the doorstep…thought will be like display only and OOS, but surprisingly it was ready stocks!

Hopefully Steam Deck 2 will be using the latest Strix AMD APU.

Would be impressive. :o

I doubt Steam Deck 2 will be released that soon. While I agree that Strix Point is pretty good for an APU, but it does so because it draws more power. You can force it to run at say 30W, but its a lot of potential wasted. On the blue camp, the Lunar Lake chip is seemingly better for such lower power condition. But I don't think the Arc 140V is as good as most reviewers said because in the below video, you can see that most in game performance with the Arc iGPU is not very consistent. The frame time fluctuates quite a lot more and in some of the videos, you can tell the game is more stuttery on the Intel iGPU solution. Not sure if this is a driver problem, but I observed that this is something since Arc Alchemist and will not be something that can be fixed in 2 or 3 generations.
