it says play connected to the charger, means it can run off mains without battery installed?

I'm flying to Japan in Dec, and am hoping to get my hands on this from the local retail store Edion....

Has anyone tried to buy from Japan before? Any potential issues that I should be aware of?

For one , stock availability - I'm not sure about the craze on this in Japan right now or are they loyal to the Switch

The other i just thought of....the power brick probably won't work in SG, but i suppose any USB charger that can output 65W should work right?

Yes any 45w USB c connector can charge. I using to changer for laptop sometimes to charge
