Sticky Matte IWC Watch Box

Posting here cos here's where all the watch threads are...apologies if this is the wrong place.

Box is in the original paper box stored in my wardrobe.
took out recently and realise the matte surface is very sticky now and my finger print is now imprinted on it.

Is there any way to salvage the box still? any solution to wipe on it to clean it or remove the matte surface if that is even recommended?

My Bell & Ross watch also the same. No chance of salvage for me already as the box case surface sticks to the paper box and detached itself. If yours just turned sticky, try using IPA to improve.

humidity is the main cause for this. This is normal... the older red omega watch box have this flakking issue as well.

Even if you resolve it now, it will be back again. Just saying that don't waste so much time on this.

You can try using the alcohol swaps bought from pharmacy to wipe.

Alcohol wipes not effective. Use IPA.

Don’t use alcohol wipes on leather! They will damage the leather and definitely bring the colour off

next time keep all watch boxes inside ziplock bag....

Yah... must take care of the box as also can affect resale value I believe
