With most of the SSD 120 gb and 128 gb dropping price a lot , maybe buy locally more better but for SSD 240 gb and 256 gb maybe buy oversea online shop will have better saving.

Earlier, maybe. But there is still a $20 delta between Tradepac and the rest of SLS. I am still wondering why...

FYI, Tradepac has the Intel 520 series, 120GB for $198.

i know that got some tweeks to optimize the ssd..

just wanna check is there any donts to use on ssd?

i would be installing my frequently played games on it

as for bt should install the program on my ssd drive or hdd drive? will direct all torrents download to hdd though

Don't defrag your SSD, disable it if it's enabled.
For me, I turned off System Restore, Hibernation and Paging File as well. Frees up quite a lot of space.

Not sure about your question on BT though. For me, I installed the program on SSD but the downloads are on my HDD.

Actually, with an SSD, boot up time is so fast that I don't even need to hibernate on my laptop anymore. You can save a few GB of space if you don't need hibernation. But of course, it's just my own preference and depends on individual usage.

i want to change my mbp 2010 to ssd. is getting a sata3 one worth it cause my mbp only sata2 connection.

also if buying sata2 is more worth it, what brand should i hoot and what's the USD market price? significantly lower than a sata3 one?

Think you can only find OCZ old stock of SSD Sata2 locally , now all SSD is Sata3. With pricing dropping to quite low , get the 120 gb locally but if you need 256 gb than get from overseas but take note of the warranty portion.

i guess i wont need to save that much space on my hdd ba..

now my C: drive on lappy i allocate 50GB nia

then i brought a 128gb sdd..

so in the end i still have 60-70 gb space.. which i can use to store games.. (more than enough =x)

Haha... Good for you. I'm using 64GB for my work laptop and it's more than enough cos I don't install much programs.

The older 320 Series doesn’t appear to have been affected by the cuts yet -- at least not on Newegg.

The new prices will make Intel’s drives more competitive against the rest of the market, which has seen overall prices for mainstream SSDs go on a steady decline over the past year.

In addition to the price cuts Intel also announced a new 240GB variant for the SSD 330 Series, which was previously capped at 180GB. Like other members of Intel’s newest entry-level SSD family it can handle up to 500 MB/s sequential reads, up to 450 MB/s sequential writes, up to 42,000 IOPS 4K random reads, and up to 52,000 IOPS 4K random writes.
