It appears the main difference in specs between the V2 & O2 are 50K IOPS vs 10K IOPS, about 10Mb/s read/write speed, and native TRIM support.

Is the additional 40K IOPS worth US$34 (~S$45)?

(It would seem the V2 is the better buy for 240Gb...)

High IOPS are only important if you're using your computer solely as a server (file server, database server, etc) serving multiple client PC users in a network setup. If you are using the PC as a single user pc, then forget about paying extra for high IOPS harddisks. It's not necessary. Because by next year, when the new gen SSDs come out, their specs will supersede this year's SSDs, maybe even at a lower price.

Just received my OCZ Vertex 2 120Gb from Linke Computer.

In perfect condition, they wrapped it in bubble wrap then in an external box, so there was double protection. I'm surprised at how light and small it is though.

actually some end user will need high random IOPS... its about sequential vs random for me. i prefer to have high random iops

If you got a friend in the US, then you're in a great position. Yes, of course I think it's wise, because then your friends can even help you claim the mail-in rebates if any.

after the package leaves HK, takes about 5 days to reach SG. If you use the tracking number they provided, go to the Singapore Post or Speedpost website to track and trace. By right it would be in SG by Wednesday/Thursday.

The Singpost/Speedpost website will only update once they receive the item. Before that it will say no such item (or something like that).

btw... i am not really good in this... but is there anything i need to do to ensure the SSD runs smoothly in the long run ?????

i basically just whack the SSD in the pc.. connect, install WIn7 home .. thats all.. as i was told WIn7 will take care of SSD and no need to set anything, but how true is that?
