only worry is reliability for SF based drives.
i don't wish to see the drive fails after several months or 6 months down the road.
Why is everyone talking about Sandforce drives not being "reliable"
Have you personally had a Sandforce drive fail on you
I think the issue that reviewers raised about supposed "reliability" is the ability for the drive to maintain performance over time and keep the NAND cells from reaching end of their write cycle unevenly. This is not failing
There is no consensus that I've heard about suggesting that any particular drive is less likely to fail.
So far implemented 3 x Intel SSD and 5 x OCZ Vertex2 SSD , only one failed out of the box for OCZ Vertex2 , after done a one to one exchange , all working fine now.
With the ssd program for monitoring the wear and tear , so far for all the 8 installed ssd , all show a life-span of 9 years+

i think the reliability is about drive's quality. you only believe a product's quality is not good when it fails in front of you, don't you?
take a look at customers' rating and comments on amazon and newegg. intel has far better feedbacks unless those shopping sites deliberately remove negative ones for intel. i think this is one of the ways most of bros here use to judge how good a brand/product is.
it may not be fair to blame sandforce. sandforce only makes controller after all. but sandforce is always mentioned and some people get confused sandforce makes the drive. too bad, price to pay to be famous.![]()
its OOS at the moment.. i was told stocks will come in at the end of the month..Went to a few shops seem like Intel X25 120GB hard to find![]()
if u r looking at x25 120gb i think u wun save much compared with SG prices. but if u r tinking of getting the vertex 2 120gb, i saw u can get on amazon.com for USD199. Including shipping via vpost / borderlinx, it should cost S$290 max...
