Hi Bro/Sis,
What I expect is faster booting time and more responsive when I open the software and browsing.
Which ssd you recomend (buy through local retailer) to me ? I believe that SATA 3 connector is not supported by my laptop. I am looking for 120 Gb capacity.
Thank you in advance for your advice given.
Just went SLS, TradePac now selling Intel 320 SSD 120GB around $274, good price!
Since it's for Laptop (1 HDD bay), maybe you can consider Seagate XT hybrid drive.. It's a HDD with 4GB SSD. Desktop users would consider 1 SSD for OS/Programs and 1 HDD for storage.
The HDD part offer affordable storage while the SSD part speeds things up a bit.. If you want robustness.. then a full SSD would be more robust.
This is direct from Crucials note to us:
Increases…
- sequential read speeds by up to 20%
- PCMark Vantage benchmark scores, which results in an improved user experience in most operating systems
Improves…
- throughput performance
- write latency for better performance under heavy write workloads
- compatibility with latest chipsets
- intermittent failures in cold boot up related to some specific host systems
Provides…
- users with faster boot up timescompensation for SATA speed negotiation issues between some SATA-II chipsets and the SATA-III device
We thought it only fair to show you first hand what we are seeing. We tested our Crucial M4 128GB SSD before the upgrade (left) and then after we applied their new ver. 0009 firmware (right). All tests conducted are fresh results and were done within an hour.
Attractive indeed.. but..
The 8Mb bug not resolve yet rite....
Official from Intel Firmware. Solved 8MB bug
Hi bro,
I don't mind to have small storage. Because I used to bring external hdd around for my data. I also not install any game or software with huge data.
Is the cheapest around is intel ssd?
