my config as shown in my profile.

my boot disk is my samsung ssd. I have this 1TB WD black HDD when ever i plugged in , my pc cannot boot up.It just stops at the the screen to go to UEFI bios. The PC will boot fine with the other 1 TB black, ssd and 2 seagate hdds.
I have swapped sata cable and port. The cable and port is confirmed working fine.

So I plugged in WD black hdd into another HTPC...the PC can boot . I can transfer data, copy paste..no problem. This hdd works well !!

Why my PC cannot boot when plugged in this hdd? any ideas?

[SOLVED] finally after many tries

not willing to sacrifice my 1 WD black hdd....i tried several methods, formatting it, swapping ports but it doesn't work.

apparently , it got to do with some history of my WD disks. Previously they were on raid 1 on my previous PC hence the the second disk EFI partition was somehow erased and the UEFI bios of ASROCK cannot detect. However , it was all fine with PC using the normal bios. Thus all I have to do is to convert the partition type from MBR to GPT. the partition type doesnt matter but writing to the EFI during the conversion helps .

After this was done , the ASROCK UEFI is able to detect my HDD . Yeah!
