Strange problems with iphone 6S

My father’s 6S has been having weird problems since few months back. He bought about a year ago & mentioned that in the last few months there were 2 or 3 times when the phone froze. As in nothing works. Cant even power off. Then after a while its ok.

And just last month he noticed the phone was losing its charge very fast. No changes to his settings & he always turns off the phone & charges it before going to bed. So he starts the day with 100% but by 3-4pm its already 20%. No change to his usage habits too. iOS 11.2.2 if it makes a difference.

Can anyone think of any possible solutions or is it time just to bring to apple store? Only problem is i read if battery replacement is needed it could take several days which means he has no phone during this period.

Maybe check the battery usage to see if there is any rogue app constantly crunching in the background?

sounds like it could be a battery issue or simply e flash storage reached its end of life.

No rogue but he uses Youtube app the most often. That said, his usage pattern has not changed and this battery issue was not there from the start so ya, obviously something screwed up.

Must be damn sway sia, I usually change phones every 2 years when contract is up but touchwood, none of my phones croaked before I changed them. His phone just crossed the 1 year mark.

Depend on luck lor example mine Dad old 5c And my SIs hubby 5c also battery bloated just 1yrs up
