Strange Smell from PC

My PC has been, for a long time emitting a strange smell - I think its been there since day 1 when i first build the rig. Its not exactly one would refer to as smoke smell or burnt rubber though.

I highly doubt its a burnt out capacitor or anything, my temps are fine for both GPU, CPU and across the other diodes that measure temps on the mobo. I've checked HWmonitor and can see that the voltage regulation is within range.

things look fine to me....

does this smell normal to you ?

there's this LED switch at the corner of my case which seems to have some conductive glue connecting the pins to a PCB. it looks something like this

would this glue be melting and thus causing the smell ?

Those are not conductive glue or known to emit bad odour.

Hot melt glue commonly use in PSUs to hold the inductor (coil) to reduced vibration (coil whining) phenomenon.

strange, i tried to poke my nose in there and they smell all the same...

I suspect it maybe the dust burnt smell...

will dust the box this weekend and see if things improve.

doubt so....

so, I actualy installed 3 new ML-140 fans in the case, might be that they are new and there is the initial burn in....

the smell is lesser now so will monitor.
