Strange system issue

Before I conclude that something is not right with the graphic card, just wanted to seek opinions on the issue with my rig on the right.
Last week I changed 2 things on my rig, graphic card and casing. I went from a GTX 1050TI to an MSI RX 480.

Before making these changes, the rig is stable as I have been using it for no less than 6 months now. After transferring everything to the new case and changed GPU, it boots but no display. I tried to resit the GPU but don't work. So I swapped my GTX 1050TI back and it worked. So I switched back to the RX480 and strangely it worked fine. However, it keeps causing boot issues everytime I shut down my computer and off the mains. When I boot up each day or each time after switching it off from the mains, it always fail to start. It will try booting a few times and reset my Bios each time. I have to go in and change the Ram to run at XMP profile each time which was stable previously. Yesterday, there was once when I switched on the mains and tried switching it on, it keeps switching off immediately, i.e I press power button, the lights turn on on off immediately. No matter how many times I press, the same thing happened until I switch off the mains.
Considering only the GPU changed, I am wondering if this is the cause or something else is failing. Therefore would like to seek second opinion in case folks here have experienced it.
Anyway, system seems stable when it boots in. I have not experienced any BSOD even when under gaming load.

more like something to do with your new case that might have shorted the board cauing the shut down.. check that your standoffs are placed correctly and none is touching your board..

else you might have over tightened your cooler

I probably will go back and check. I made sure the standoffs are there because I made that mistake once. I did not adjust the cooler since it was just transferred from my old casing. I may loosen it a little tonight. I am just wondering if its a GPU or PSU issue.

I will try and reseat the GPU. I did that a few times, but I think due to the weight and size, it may be a problem.

Yeah, second hand. But the source is trustworthy. I may bring the card and PSU down to check. PSU was working fine until I made the changes.

rx480 not ATI card? wont have driver issue if u did not uninstall Nvidia driver? Since you switch back to Nvidia card it's working and the ATI card isn't.

I can't get it to boot properly, so unlikely to be a driver issue. Moreover, it is stable after I boot in.

Just sharing.....
If I swap graphics card on my 2 rigs, the Ryzen rig will not boot with GTX1050Ti. The other rig will boot fine with either graphics card.

if can post and boot into windows (hear windows startup sound)
but no display
can try setting pcie link speed in bios, eg. gen3 or gen2 instead of auto...

Is it a Ryzen setup issue that you are suggesting? For my case, GTX 1050TI works fine, but it doesn't seem to like the RX 480.

If the problem only occurs when you’re using the 480, chances are it’s the Gpu or some compatibility problem. If your 1050 also has the problem, try booting to integrated graphics (assuming you have intel cpu).

As you changed cases, make sure every cable is connected to where it’s supposed to be connected. (Esp psu)

yours or you bought second hand

If yours: You already know the answer
If you bought second hand, i think you also know the answer.

The hint is the Memory.....

Usuall when GPU falters, the memory is the one that causes the issues.

I tried. Nothing works. Changing the ram slot and it failed to boot no matter what. Give up on it le. I changed my graphic card to a lowly HD4550 and it booted. But still seem unstable.

System seems stable now with the HD 4550. Managed to boot fine after shutting it down for sometime. Also managed to check the PSU voltages for 3.3V, 5V and 12V. Looks fine as the values are slightly above for each of them.
