Recently just fixed my old com that was on a hiatus for about a year. Had a bit of an accident, thermal paste got on the under side of the cpu and ram.. Just a bit, manage to clean it up and the computer worked. But theres stuttering whenever i try to run applications not much but its getting on my nerves... Oh and c drive is full, but i doubt that would be the fault tho.

Can someone help with advice or know any sofware to check if my cpu and RAM is working fine?

Stuttering as in making a sound (fan? Hard disk?) ? or the software does not load properly?

How do i do that ?

Like when im using chrome sometimes it just stops and theres that 'not responding' but it goes away after around 10 second wait. Same thing with Steam

Open the computer.. remove and put back the RAM chips..or interchange them.. see if it works.. also make sure that their is no dust on the fans... looks like a dust issue to me

Shift your paging file to D drive or HDD.... And monitor your RAM usage in Windows Task Manager.

where do i find the paging file?

yeah had that issue with the beeping noise when i first start up after the fix so i removed and put back, happened again a few days later when i accidentally kick my pc (lol), i removed and put back again, did blow out some dust.. Still has some stuttering :/ Anyway to check if my ram is working alright ?

i had this pagefile issue while gaming. do u set to auto or input values? what min n max values are suitable? i've 8gb ram.
Usually Microsoft recommendation is 1.5 times capacity of your RAM. By default, Windows will allocate every drives you have a system-managed size, i.e. 1.5x and will increase dynamically as your demands grows.

But for me, i remove the paging file on SSD, locate it solely on D drive on the HDD and set it to a meagre 256MB since system RAM is already so great.

UPDATE: I realize the lag/stuttering happens mostly when i'm downloading stuff or when im using steam to play games also when i play online games my ping gets super high which should not be happening because before the fix everything was ok, i only replaced the MOBO. Checked RAM health, HDD and SSD for errors, I evern formated my pc and re install windows 7.. But it's still happening ! :( , updated GPU drivers, everything is ok. Could it the CPU ? :/ help please THANK YOU

Use task manager to check both ram usage and CPU utilitisation. See which is the culprit.

Ram and cpu utilisation seem to be ok.

What are you using for download? Try pinpointing the problem by isolating them.

Firstly by disabling both chrome and steam, and by using firefox.
If no issue then use chrome instead of firefox.
If no issue then steam only.

Network issue shouldnt cause the pc to stutter.

If you are suspicious that your SSD might be deteriorating, download Crystal Disk Info and check the health of your internal drives.

Hi, you can use resource monitor and monitor for a few moment.
Afterwards you can check and see the results.

It seems that either your ram or ssd is faulty.
I mean it's going to get more faulty until it's unuse-able.

Like what others had mentioned it might be either ram or HDD if bad software is out of the qns. You should try minimum specs when debugging hardware. Adding the whole lot of them will only complicate things.

some options that you can consider:

Ram-wise..... one stick at a time.

1) use only the OS disk, then test for stability. Then plug in the rest, one by one.
2) buy a cheap low capacity SSD (which can be use as a thumbdrive in future) as OS disk and test for stability. Then plug in the rest, one by one.
3) Try each disk as OS disk. Then plug in the rest, one by one. ( more painfully as data are lost and more time consuming for installing).
