Going to Tokyo for 7 days. As my plan is to only cover 2 or 3 place per day, i am thinking of getting this instead.
From my understanding this functions like the ez link card.
Is this worthwhile?![]()
it really depends on your itinerary. for me, tsukiji fish market, ginza, shinjuku isetan, shinjuku gyoen, aoyama, omotesando, nihonbashi, asakusa, to name a few are better served by metro.
yes i agree for some of the places you mentioned (shinjuku isetan? jr yamanote does a better job i think) but it is precisely that it limits the flexibility of you taking whatever line that is fastest to get to your destination which is why many do not recommend the metro pass...
ah.......
coz im staying at the chuo line (nishi-ogikubo) airbnb........
intending to go asakusa, ueon, shibuya, harajuku, shinjuku, fish market, akihabaru, ibusu, tokyo tower, diver city on the last day as im going to haneda airport..........

so far out of tokyo centre????
definitely forget about metro pass...
and one advice for you... avoid the morning rush hour... it will give you a rude shock.![]()
i used Hyperdia to test, almost all of your destination requires JR lines, once I exclude JR, you wont be able to go to there. This will force u to use a combination of SUICA and the metro pass. And the saving will be drastically reduced and likely you cannot even recover the cost.
nishi-ogikubo is so far out it is beyond the range of any metro lines.... the furthest east metro station is ogikubo on the marunouchi line.
