Please recommend a decent rig for a CPU ~ $1000

Will be using for playing CS, L4D..

No monitor needed.

Is PC themes still one of the places to go to?

If u don't mind assembling yourself it's cheaper to get the parts yourself.
Also u can take a look at Aftershock if u want to have the option of having onsite troubleshooting (1st year). They offer it at not much of a premium

You could get Ryzen 5 3600 too but I don't recommend. Trying to get that means dropping your MB to a super budget board which is Asrock A320M and PSU down another level belonging to 3 years warranty.

Note that for gaming and most applications nvme has usually little to no benefits.
I would only buy nvme if it's cheaper or ard same as ssd prices .

2600x has no gaming benefits unless you overclock but you need a better mb to do so.
Your best choice is go full budget 2600 + asrock pro 4 .
Or spend 100 more to get 3600 if u want to upgrade to better GPU in near future .

Some guy bought 500GB at $70 , mine bought 99. It's actually same price as sata ssd. And some Games does load map faster than sata Alot

Main thing is nvme read speed 5times faster than sata

It has slightly higher fps for some games, I would agree if you argue the cost/performance isn't worth it but to say "no benefit" is far stretched.

Also, you don't need super good board to OC 2600 or 2600x.

True, loading a bit faster isn't a significant benefit. However, having less cable management certainly is a plus. Slotting a card compare to connecting two wires to sata SSD.
