Hi guys, need some suggestion from the forum expert in rig building.

The budget is at 1.8K and will be building this recommend Rig at 3/10/2014 as i am moving house on that day. Need OS and monitor. As for the monitor, is it better to have a 23"inch or 27"inch? And whats the different in price?

And is there any good in investing in a sound card?

Lastly, for gaming need will be to able to apply max setting at current high graphic intensive game and future games too.

Thanks in advance for the help and time. Cheers

1) Define 'graphic intensive games'. Which games?

2) It would be better to get a 23" or 24" monitor if gaming at 1080p. Cheaper as well.

3) Onboard sound is generally good enough for most purposes. No need sound card.

Come back again when the dates get nearer as there may be promo from time to time.

To answer your question. Big monitor does not mean good.

23/24 inch @ 1080p resolution is still much more crisp image than a 27inch 1080p.

Simply to put a 1080p on 27inch pixels are spread slightly more apart. At near viewing, you can see the black dots between each pixels.

But of cause if you use it to view at a far distance like 3-8m then you will not noticed it.

Sound card will depends on the speakers and headphones you intending to drive.

Current 1.8k setup for your reference only.

Buy at PC Themes, #04-15, and ask for discounts. DIY yourself. If you can't into DIY, go to PC Care & Solution at #02-32 and ask Nigel to help you assemble for a fee.

Notes:

1) True futureproofing is impossible in the rapidly changing techonological enviroment today. This build may not be able to play future games at max settings.

2) Since you are only building this rig in October, you may want to wait for the R9 285X to come out before deciding on your build.
