[Suggestions] Additional ssd

Hi guys,

I'm using asus b450m-a mobo and want to add an additional nvme m2 ssd. Currently my only m2 slot alr has another ssd, while the pcie x16 is used by my gfx. Any other work around solution, other than changing the whole mobo?

Can get NVMe PCIe M.2 NGFF SSD to PCIe x1 adapter card PCIe x1 to M.2 card (from shopee)

Thanks, initially I was contemplating on this option.

Put a pcie nvme adapter in the m2 slot to extend out to 2x m2 slots. But on the right in the AMD socket, to the left is gfx. No space to fit the adapter in.

Is your mobo NGFF slot still available now?

I presume NGFF = m2 slot. If it is, then no its not available. Alr has another ssd in it.

Ah okay thanks!! Great idea. May have clearance below the gfx to slot in the adapter

Although I would be reduced to sata3 speeds ...

Get SATA SSD? Difference between SATA and NVME are not noticeable.
If you use a converter it may reduce the bandwidth.

PCIE nvme ssd adaptor is slot into the pciex1 slot (last pcie slot at the btm), not the m.2 slot. If you need 2 more nvme slots, can consider getting silverstone de.

You can consider going with a bigger NVMe SSD and sell off the existing one.
