Can anyone explain to me what is the difference between Summer Studies Fee pay and Exchange?

For Semester Exchange, I understand that fee pay and exchange will mean paying only host university school fees, and paying only NTU school fees, respectively.

However, I don't quite understand the diff btween fee pay and exchange for summer studies. I emailed the GEM discoverer office to ask, they replied:
As an exchange student, you do not pay for additional school fees. However, fee paying will require you to pay to the host university.
You may refer to the Q&A as below:

Do they mean that I have to pay BOTH NTU AND HOST UNIVERISTY SCHOOL FEES for fee pay summer studies? But it'll be during the holiday, why must I pay NTU? How much am I expect to pay NTU?

TIA!

Fee paying means paying the host uni fees which can be cheaper/ more expensive than NTU fees.
GEM discoverer (summer exchange) you just have to pay the amount the school tells you to

The amount paid should be disclosed in iNTU GemDiscover

But there will still be programme fees to the host uni if it's through GEM right?
So whats the diff :s11:

For GEM Explorer, you will be paying the school fees that you have been paying for since your first semester.

For Fee Pay wise, you will be paying for the tuition fees of the host university (AKA exchange university) and the Leave of Absence (LOA) fees. Depending on where you're heading to, it can either be cheaper or more expensive. Usually those in Europe will be more expensive, but not all of them are more expensive so you'll have to conduct your own research well.

If you have any doubts, heading down to the GEM Explorer Office in NTU would be ideal. The staffs are really helpful and I would recommend it instead of making enquiries through email.
