According to this time table, there isn't any competition during my stay in Tokyo (8-19 Dec). Ahhhhhhh!

Anyone knows if they have some kind of demo competition or friendlies? I am so intrigue by sumo wrestling after I accidentally watched some programs about the story of Akebono. So i am hoping to watch one life match when I am in Tokyo.

i am afraid it will be too difficult to find any of these.. unless you know someone in the Sumo circle. The alternate months are probably meant for resting and if there are friendlies it's most likely held in the dojo itself. Maybe you can search for dojo tours?

Walk ard Ryogoku area, you might bump into sumo trainees, try to ask them. Alternatively, visit the sumo restaurants and see if there are brochures there.
