Super budget basic itx build ($500)

Hi all,

My dad's birthday is coming in a few months and I want to build him a basic itx form factor PC for his daily use. He only does basic web browsing and youtube, not for gaming at all.

I've narrowed my specs to the following.

MSI H81i + i3 4130 ~ $243
Crucial 8GB 1333 kit ~ $90
WD 1TB Blue ~ $72
Corsair CX500 Bronze ~ $95
Cooler Master Elite 110 ~ $70

Total $570

Kind of burst my budget by quite a bit but I can't think of how to cut the total any lower.

Any comments on this?

Zbox nano more than enough for surfing and videos. Don't even need 8Gb. I'm using 4Gb RAM and SSD, very smooth operation.

My Zbox is using the predecessor to the Celeron 1007U, which is a very good CPU. The only downside may be fan noise when decoding HD video.

The new Bay Trail CPUs like N2820 are SLOWER than Celeron 1007U but the TDP is cut by 55% from 17w to 7.5w. Less power = less heat = less fan noise.

Actually Zotac NUC could be a better buy. Add in a SSD @ $105 + a 4gb ram $47 Total $347 or a 2.5inch 1tb HDD Should be below $310

Forget about buying Sandy/Ivy Board. Very limited boards are left. Mostly z77 and H77 available. Be it tradepac or other stores. All itx boards are gone. Probably can only find Gigabyte h77n wifi itx

Yeap. Cause in sg 240gb is too ex. If you intend to buy a 240gb might as well buy from amazon. If you are looking at 120gb can go for crucial m500 from tradepac. Can manage to get $120 from them.

$5 more for ASUS H81I-PLUS with 2 additional SATA ports and a very useful USB 3.0 header and a better programmed UEFI makes it very VOM... And Jonsbo V2 or In WIn BM650 should also be considered for their sleekness and functionality.

From my understanding that this bundle is depending on which region you buy and they are available in either 200w or 300w. Price differs about $10sgd.
