Hi Guys i need some advice on my current desktop for gaming.

Case: Cooler master elite 344 usb 3.0
Cooler Master Extreme 2 475 power supply
Gigabyte GA-G41M combo
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Yorkfield Quad-Core 2.83 GHz
4gb ddr3 ram
No graphic card
HDD 500GB WD blue
OS windows 10
monitor: LG flatron w1943S

budget 600-800 although the lower the better

looking to play just overwatch and dota 2 on good settings. Would love to have some advice on upgrading or if worst come to worst, changing the rig entirely. Although i would prefer to salvage the parts :)

Thanks in advance for any advice :)

how is ur fps holding up in overwatch? i really doubt ur system can handle OW smoothly tbh.

if u not too picky, getting up to 8gb ram is fine.

gpu is tricky. if u want to be real budget, getting the 1050ti is fine. but it does not have a good price/performance ratio.

graphical settings in your game. medium, high, ultra?

you mind doing a fps check on your game to see what fps it is running? at anytime, it should be 60fps and above. anything lower is playable but u can feel it and it spoils your experience.

currently i am unable to play overwatch nor dota as i do not have a gpu :X so i can't tell my fps. Never played overwatch on this com before as well the gpu died long before it came out. Only played dota and it was okay

i dun play ow so i won't know but judging from your cpu, it seems to be able to handle up to high. as for the gpu, if u are really budget, a 1050ti will do. but u need to up that ram to 8gb at the minimum. what ram kits are you using? i notice your mobo can fit either ddr2 or 3. how many sticks of ram are in there.

Try buying gtx 1050 first for $200 and enjoy on medium. Add another 4gb ram for $40. Buy 240gb ssd for $90

maybe can find from gauge for 2nd hand GTX 950 and 4gb of ram. (will be below your budget.

lastly can consider buying a 120GB ssd. (for fast boot up and loading.)

Honestly your desktop does not look like a gaming desktop because no gpu and the ram is only 4gb ddr3. Gaming standard is at least must have 8gb ddr4 and GTX 960 DDR5. Very low specs. Honestly your desktop is very low specs.

(1) Are you on 32-bit or 64-bit Windows? If 32-bit, change to 64-bit. If already on 64-bit, get another 4 GB of RAM @ $20 to $25 (second-hand). Please note you will need the older DDR3 1333 RAM.

(2) You definitely need a SSD, at least 120GB. It will make your whole system go much faster. Should be around $50 to $60. Buy new, not used.

(3) GPU - That leaves you with more than $500 budget, enough for a GTX 1070 :D. That is overkill though. You can get a new GTX 1060 3GB, about $300 or so IIRC.

For a more budget-friendly option, you can get a GTX 670 for $100 on the second-hand market - http://forums.vr-zone.com/video-cards-and-monitors/3404836-wts-gtx-670-a.html. Your rig is a bit dated so I would suggest this option. Save your money towards a new rig in the future.

1) I think that's why your pc comes with 4gb ram :s22: 32-bit max can only read 4gb ram. Try to upgrade to 64-bit. Can go reddit buy.

After that, then consider your ram upgrade.
