Hi gkhchay,

is GABA can be purchase from GNC or must order online?

I haven't bought fr GNC for ages - their prices are exorbitant compared to the local & US online supplement stores..

With the exception of Whey protein which I get fr the local online supplements stores & Tongkat Ali (v good testosterone booster at only $20 per bottle) fr either Guardian or Watsons, all my other supplements I order from iHerb, which has got a very wide selection. Even with the shipping charges thrown in, it's only a fraction of what you pay at GNC, Natures Farm or any local supplement store...

Melatonin never worked for me. Magnesium makes me slightly sleepy, but too much of it gives me the runs the next day.

I take all 3: 5 HTP, melatonin & GABA... within half an hr to 45 mins max I'm in dreamland......

All of iHerb's brands for Tongkat Ali have pretty low dosages compared to Tongkat Ali Plus, the one that's available at any Guardian or Watson store for only $20.

Tongkat Ali Plus - 162 mg Eurycoma Longifolia per capsule (pure Tongkat Ali)... recommended: 4 caps a day.

NOW Now Foods, TestoJack 100 - 50 mg Eurycoma longifolia per 2 caps. US$ 15.93
Now Foods, TestoJack 200 - 200 mg Eurycoma longifolia per 2 caps. US$ 21.03
Source Naturals, Tongkat Ali - 80 mg Eurycoma longifolia per cap. US$ 28.36

Is Tongkat Ali Plus using LJ100®? As far as I know, that is the only standardized extract version of eurycoma longifolia that they did the studies on.

Yup. u can feel the effect pretty quickly after taking 4 caps: a tremendous increase in natural energy, not the type that u get after taking coffee...

However, it's pretty heaty ie lots of yang qi (阳气) so I would suggest that you balance the "heat" by taking American ginseng to balance it otherwise you may get sore throat, constipation etc....

Wah unker has done his homework! :D

Never taken tongkat ali, but I feel a slight increase in energy when I take Korean Ginseng. Tried Panax Ginseng and it doesn't do the trick for me...

Of course lah...

Korean Red Ginseng (高丽参) is also pretty high in 阳气 so definitely you're energy level will go up; it's also touted to be an aphrodisiac just like Tongkat Ali which has been called the South East Asia's ginseng. Korean White Ginseng has less 阳气 so it's less potent.

Panax Ginseng, on the other hand, is more to balance both the 阴阳气 so naturally it's not as "powerful", for want of better terms, as Korean Red Ginseng. I've also seen supplements containing Siberian Ginseng, which I feel, is pretty misleading since Siberian Ginseng is NOT in the ginseng family at all. Got to learn all these stuff talking to an ex-colleague in Beijing, who's hobby is in TCM...

BTW, because of the historical & politically close ties between the US & South Korea, u can get Korean Red Ginseng pretty cheap on iHerb....

Hello there, I have the same problem with sleep for 7 years. This started first with NS when I have to wake up at 2am. After two years, i thought it is over. Then found a job at a german bank that require me to work night shift from 12am - 8am. That's goes for one year. Left and found another job that require extensive travelling and need to work for 2-3 nights with little sleep.

Since then i inhabited the problem of sleepless night leding to frequent dispute with family and colleagues.

Until i came across buddhism and found one of the Meditation technique "Anapanasati" commonly refer to mindfullness with breathing. Nothing religious. The first step is to observe your breath. Hope you google for more information on this aspect.

Now i never had any sleeping problem. In stead, i spend alot of time sleeping.

Hope it help you.

anything fr 100 - 500mg about an hour or so before I go to bed & depending how stressed I feel.

u will need to experiment with the dosages as to what works for u - everyone is different....

Never heard about that brand. Sorry for that ;( The most popular here in our country for a particular sleep supp. is the 5-HTP from Maxalife. Have you heard about this product before? Even though I've never used or take it, many people proven this supp. for sleep help and support for sleep disorders. Other said it also good as a relief from the effects of sleep deprivation. I think you must check out for that supp. Migth that the supp. You've looking for.
