Anyone have stayed at/around Surin Beach? What is proper price for Phuket airport transfer? Hotel wants 900 baht (close to SGD 40) which I think is way too steep.

Did anybody use metered taxis at Phuket airport recently? If yes, where to find them and what are procedure?

Around Surin Beach itself - any recommended places for outdoor/nature/cultural activity? Not really interested at Patong beach at all.

we stayed at junceylon mall location, quoted 700b for van tat can take up to 10pax. however we only 3 pax, hence the price. 75min to airport
meter cab ? u perhaps have to wait quite long ... not common in phuket

Taxis are difficult to get and costly in Phuket.

If possible better to rent car there as rental is cheap and very easy to drive there.

Completely agree - rented a car for 4600THB for 4 days, including 800THB additional insurance and it was totally worth the investment. We drove 450km in these 4 days.

If you are going to Phuket - get a car and don't feed local mafia.
