uniSIM's part time requires a min of 2 years working experience right? Which I don't have :(

You need not have 2 years working experience to gain entry into the part time courses. As long you are working full time, be it 1 week or 1 month, you are eligible. Not necessary for the 2 years.

What to expect

Could you kindly tell us what kind of questions do they ask during the individual interview and what can we expect during the group interview?

I would like to better prepare for the assessment. Thank you in advance :)

Thanks for letting me know! :) however I do not have any full time job at the moment. Are you also enrolled in one of the part time program? Ps. I can't send via DM.

Good luck guys.
It can be a very long selection..for me it's 3 hours.

I was the 2nd batch to get interviewed (right after chinese new year -.-)

Anyway from what I heard is they shortlist people by results first... but everyone stands on equal chance once being called up for interview because there are 4 stages of selections and they will collate your 'scores' from each station and select the best.

Just prepare lots of notes for your essay writing...you got about 1 hour to write everything. The question will be given to you on the actual day.

For group interview... just do your best and speak up more. But please speak in a professional way. Don't use singlish...there were 2 girls in my group who used singlish and the professor (from new zealand) couldn't really understand them.

For Iq test, well it's all up to your own capabilities. Just some mental sum and patterns.

Lastly for personal interview, just be prepared for random questions. They will just ask lots of funny question. One question which was asked was, "what do you think of the Singapore Budget 2014". "what's your dream job since when you were a child".

And really just do your best and be calm.
I think i was lucky to be accepted, because I was the first few people who applied first and get shorlisted.
The last time my friend went for the interview, was informed that more than 700 already applied so it might get pretty competitive.

Anyway it's good. Don't give up this chance. The faculty team is previously from SMU. So they are offering seminar style lessons in the course.

Hey Man, thanks for your informative feedback. You mind if i ask how much your gpa is? Mine is 2.8 so I'm afraid I may not get shortlisted for the interview, I did attach quite an interesting portfolio of work though. So hope that it may help me score at least a slot for the interview

My gpa is 3.4 but I know there people whose gpa is 2.9 getting shorlisted.

Yes and make sure to write well for the reflective essay in your application because the professors will really read through and will ask you questions based on some of the points you have written.

Our interviews are on different dates. Mine is on 28 March, this Friday. I will provide my opinion on the assessment when it's over.

Hope to hear from you both after your experience! Mine was supposed to be on the 28th too, but i rescheduled it. Good luck!

you'll be in for a culture shock if you think lecturers from smu are good...my course developer is formerly from smu and the textbook written by him sucks big time.
future finance students in particular, will be in for a rude awakening :s8:

Sorry for only replying now! Was away. Interview was okay I guess? How's yours? :s13:

Mine was quite short.. Lasted only about 5mins or so.. The group discussion was the tough one.. We constantly needed the lecturers to spur the discussion..

Yeap, thats about what the assistant provost told us too. Its gonna be a tough competition... And the thing is, they have already given out many offers from Jan..

Super intense competition and their application process super strict. If never perform as if you are the best of the best, can don't bother already

Yeah, there are a lot of applicants and the time I went there are about 20 odd interviewees. Plus there was another batch earlier too. :(

Does anyone know when will they usually get back to you after the interview? I went for the interview on the last Friday of March and am still waiting for a response. If I am not wrong it is two weeks to a month before Unisim will respond, right?

Anyway, the individual interview was okay. The group discussion, as everyone else has mentioned it, was really the toughest. My mind was impaired for the entire discussion. I guess this is something you must get used to since Unisim is offering seminar-style lessons. And I also think I veered off from the essay question that was given. Not at all a good sign. The only consolation is the cognitive test is really easy and I almost manage to finish it. But since it is easy, everyone else can probably do it as well, negating any benefits :(

i was the 5th batch of interview around late feb. they say will let you know the result after 2 weeks. Then after 2 weeks send another email saying that they are processing, need to wait til mid may for results.

But some ppl got offers and some already rejected..hopefully i still got chance haha.

they said that there are 3 batches of people: 1. Accepted 2. Rejected 3. Keep in View/Standby. If you're not rejected after 2/3 weeks, you're probably the 3rd group.. Which means, still got chance..
