It’s not heavy if you’re aren’t working. I’ve personally know a few students whom take part time studies but aren’t doing full time work anymore

in terms of project,i agree, but i not taking full load even though not working. most importantly must space out the exam dates

Anyone taking PT Accountancy? Which electives are good to take?

Also, did they change the u-core next year to the 3 compulsory core mods? So cannot choose? No need to take Essential Academic Writing Skills anymore?

That's right, there are now the SUSS Core modules. So students from the 2019/01 intake onwards will take the SUSS Cores instead of UCores.

website states that 20cu per sem is very heavy load though...

http://www.suss.edu.sg/resources/FAQs/PT/Pages/Programme-Structure.aspx

What is the typical study load of a Singapore University of Social Sciences undergraduate student?

You may take a minimum of 5 cu and a maximum of 20 cu of courses per semester (excluding UCore courses). You should note that 20 cu of courses in a semester is a very heavy study load.

20cu is definitely heavy but it doesn't mean it's not possible. I'm currently working full time and have been taking 20cu for the past 4 semesters. This is what I've done for the past semesters:
Jan 2017 - 25cu (4 core modules + 2 2.5cu UCores)
Jul 2017 - 25cu (4 core modules + 1 5cu UCore)
Jan 2018 - 20cu (4 core modules)
Jul 2018 - 20cu (4 core modules)
I'm not the only one taking the full load while working full time.

so ultimately it depends on how much time you have, how much of this time are you willing to use for the program, and of course, how well you want to do.

Whah about UCores? Do I take them on first sem or should I wait and take 4 compulsory ones first.

Jan 2019 batch still got UCores or change to fixed SUSS core?

Really depend on your workload whether you can tahan or not, most of my course mates did full 20cu load + 2.5 or 5cu Ucore.

Although last sem is just practicum and 2 SWK electives (1 TMA each term), better to clear your SUSS core earlier sem as alot of files need to be submitted for practicum.

Understood. Practicum that means I must be working in a related field to pass the subject? Oh no I was still thinking of concentrating on my studies and maybe quit my FT and work PT instead. 😂

400 hours to clock for practicum, depend on organisation, no need to do 5 full days weeks, can do 3 or 4 days per week.

When do you intend to grad? Cause I was thinking of taking max load then try and grad within 3 years. At first I was thinking of just focusing on my studies, grad alr then find a related field job. Didn’t realise that I’ve to clock 400hrs of related work to graduate omg. 🤦🏻*♀️

Hi. Is anyone from the Degree in Marketing (Part-time) course? I'm a confirmed student for the Jan 2019 intake. :)

This is only for your course (SWK) isit? Other courses dont need to clock working hours to graduate right?
