OCAS and failing exams

hi everyone. just wanna ask, if i get 40% for OCAS and go for exams and i fail it what will happen ah? is it resit or must retake entire module?

can i just fail a module and graduate or must pass everything?

your OCAS get 40% but your exam get 15 to 39 out of 100 = resit (pay $120 and redo only the exam next sem)

your OCAS get 40% but your exam get 0 to 14 out of 100 = repeat (pay $600 and redo EVERYTHING next sem)

if the module is compulsory, u will need to pass that module in order to graduate. if the module is optional and u find it too "killer" / difficult, u can pick another module to replace it.

Adding on to the first part,

OCAS you get 100 marks,exam u fail by one mark, which is 39/100 , u still need to resit exam. This is because suss uses a MULTIPLE HURDLE APPROACH and not a COMPENSATORY APPROACH such as polytechnic method. For example, polytechnic project 50%, exam weightage another 50%, your project get 100/100, ur exam never go or get 0 mark for exam, u still clear the module as it is a 50/100 overall.

your ocas got 40% only? tat one is considered clear already for ocas part.. so dont think about that already, just know that your exam still need minimum 40 % regardless your ocas get how many %. once only both side clear,then the score will be combined... but the thing u say is, if u dont go exam, yes it will be withdraw and next sem,u retake just the exam only, which u need to pay 107 but ur ocas remain there as 40%.. if ur tat kind where u scared if u pass,but overall grade not good,then just drop that module and retake the whole module again.

Lol... 40% ocas... even if can still go exam, dont risk it and just withdraw sua. Wont affect GPA.

Rmb, go exam and fail, means GPA will drop. GPA less than 2.0 in any 2 sems (no need to be concurrent) means restart whole degree liao.

Dont attend exam can le. Exam withdraw still can resit one time, since your ocas 40%. Go student portal download student handbook to read.

With your open book ocas at 40% simply means you dont understand the course enough. You even had weeks to do them!

Your exam will be similar to your assignments, and typically closed book, without weeks for u to do them this time.

You better rethink carefully.

Already REALLY considering not going lah. Currently my cgpa is 3.46/5 BTW. I think I damn hopeful that I can at least get 40 marks for the entire course just so I don't have to repeat...

Understand your pain of not wanting to waste another sem on this painful module.

Then I'll suggest you start re-reading the study guide, download all the past year papers and spot the common questions appearing every sem and try to score them at least.

Study 1 more extra portion in your failed TMA, with every extra bandwidth you have.

Got 1 more week left till exam week, dont lose hope, Getting a D is still possible.

Whether will indicate in your exam timetable I'm not sure.

But the common understanding from student handbook is if u fail ocas and dont go exam, counted as withdrawn, just repeat whole module next sem lor, if it's a compulsory module.

If want resit is to pass ocas and dont go exam

You dont submit your tma also counted as withdraw and next sem repeat.

but then even if ur overall pass, and u get a D or D+, this two grade is actually 1 and 1.5 respectively which is considered cleared the module BUT in terms of gpa, it is actually "fail" because in terms of cumulative gpa, have to be 2.0 in order to grad and 2.0 means C in average... so if u get D for one module, make sure that ur other module is like b+ or something so the gpa for that sem is more than 2.0

you can choose to drop the resit during add/drop period

If u really decided not to chiong a little harder for the exam next week and withdraw..

You can pay the $60 admin fee to drop the resit during the next course offer period, which is coming 20 June to early July 2019.
