That's cool. Play around with your choices of fish and how you cook your chicken. I like fish but it really depends on how it's cooked.

normally i take salmon but playing with other possible fish options....
i'm too lazy to think of ways to cook the chicken & fish....just pan-fried them without oil and eat them while hot...done and over in 20mins.....
yes...bland..but i'm not too concerned with taste.:s7:

Is it all red meat or just beef? Try venison, duck, pork etc.

just beef... didnt bother eating other red meats.:look:
chicken seems to be the common choice and easily available at most eating places.
protein per 100g also seems decent compare to other red meats except beef... :)

not sure if you're allowed to add some herbs. masterfoods mixed herbs are pretty good and will go well with the fish.

alternatively, can try black pepper steak seasoning. can be spicy though.

They're cheap but:

-Taste like... nothing.
-No real texture.
-Since they're frozen you need to take care to thaw, marinate and cook them well. Otherwise you'll get the sniffles.

Xander is right though. As far as protein goes, nothing in Sg really beats a 30-tray of eggs. If you're on a VERY tight budget but are attempting to gain, the magic combination is:

-Rice.
-Eggs.
-Peanuts.
-Soy sauce/ketchup.

lmao thats my budget bulking plan. add in UHT fresh milk. :s13::s13:

i wish i could....i know beef is a very good sources of protein and other stuffs....but unfortunately cant take beef....have been taking chicken & fish....

If you can eat pork, try it. It offers similar benefits (at least I feel it does) and it's much cheaper, the lean cuts at fairprice are about $12/kg, as opposed to $17/kg for chuck-tender cut beef.

What's this about then?

I feel a little off when I eat thawed meats that:

-Aren't very well cooked, i.e well done.
-Aren't marinated overnight.

Just something I've noticed.

I usually thaw for 6-8 hours.

Tenderizing the meat helps in the case of chicken and beef. Gets it nice and flat.

For some reason I have not had luck with Sutchi fillets. Get a weird sensation of being on the verge of illness damn near everytime I cook them, so I gave up.

Seems like it, but the factory actually adds some water holding additive to it and of course lots of water to increase the weight. You can see this for yourself if you let it thaw, as well as it's actually clearly written on the packet what that additive is (cant remember now though).

Sutchi fillets are nice once in a while, but you can get sick of it if you eat too much. Moderation and variety is key.

delivery was 10SGD for my first order there. Will hit the 80 SGD next time though by adding some delicious cheese and more meat, lol :D

too bad im renting a room now. Loading the fridge with so much food will piss my landlord off. Will order 10kg of chicken breasts, beef and fish when i get my own place.

actually if 16kg of chicken breast takes too much space....can order lesser like 5-6kg and pay the $10 delivery charges which is still cheaper than buying from supermarkets....not sure if it's cheaper if you buy from wet market.
