First day touch down at 11am.

Check in hotel

Chinatown

2nd day
Blue mountain tour

3rd day
Bondi beach
Watson bay

4th day
Back home

Don't think can cover many places with such a short time

Heading back to Syd next month again. I visited Newtown and the place was quite hippy with loads of shops and cafes.. similarly like Brunswick street in Melbourne..

Might visit Surry hills next and Strathfield, was told there's good korean food there.

You're going to have a very busy trip.

Personally, I don't find Chinatown worth going to. Even the Singapore one is much bigger and more interesting.

There are quite a few restaurants and pubs in Surry Hills, with a lot of them having opened or renovated in the last few years. They all came up after I left Sydney.

Strathfield is a residential area, with many Koreans. Not sure what's good there these days but it wouldn't be too difficult to find a place owned and operated by Koreans.

Yea, the chinatown was quite disappointing, but we managed to find a good chinese restaurant and relatively cheap food.

i like New Town
it was a hipster area before hipster became an in thing
was told that they only allow independent shops to open there. no franchise or chain like macdonalds or starbucks. dunno if it is still the case.

Does Dendy Cinemas count as a chain?
It's been there for a long time though, and it's more of an art house cinema. Apart from that, it's still all independent shops.

central station seem far away....the nearest place of interest will be Chinatown...

I stayed in the Grace hotel previously, nice hotel.. i probably walked like 20km up and down the whole of CBD the few days i was there.

Not sure how accurate it is for weather a month away. September can be quite variable though. If it's sunny, it can feel quite warm even though it's only about 20'C. Best to dress in layers so you can add/remove as necessary. The nights will be quite cool/cold (in SG terms).

Never tried it, and I think you have to stay with them to join the tour. Not sure where the tour takes you to, but I only know of 1 glow worm place near the Blue Mountains, and it's not the easiest to get to. There's some hiking involved. Can't remember what it's called now but I can try to find some more info on it if you like (when I'm in SG again over the weekend.

Even most Sydneysiders wouldn't know about this. If you're happy to drive to the national park (noting that most rental car companies do not provide insurance when driving on unsealed roads), I believe you can actually bring a torch and go there yourself. (At least it was still possible some years ago, so need to check on that).

I'm currently in Sydney. Weather is chilling cold at times but definitely ok for most Singaporeans. Aircon
