10 days in Syd is really long! Not sure what you've planned..

Sorry is from 5oct. About 9 days. I am sure Sydney got alot to explore right? Haha. Am thinking visit one area of sydney each day to maximse.

With so many days... you should make some day trips out. Sydney isn't like Tokyo where you can spend 10 days and still barely scratch the city.

Ya, i am thinking of going blue mountain for 1 day, watson bay for another day. Or is there any suggestion day trips that i can go other than the above?

lol, spend only about 2 or 3 days in the city at most(maybe during weekends when theres the weekend markets), theres really nothing much to do within the city itself. apart from that, sydney hotel prices are rubbish, so might as well make your money stretch further and spend it outside the city

- (north)hunter valley for wine/cheese
- (even more north)central coast for beaches
- (south)southern highlands/sapphire coast/south coast for seafood,scenery,beaches

Oh but i had booked accom already. This is the first time we going to australia. Maybe will go out for day trip. Central highland seem interesting. But this can considered go as day trip? Anyway regarding my qns on lincoln rock, is it possible to go on your own without car or tour guide?

err, its do-able for day trips, but i really wouldnt recommend it. did you book all 9 nights in sydney? i would highly advise you cancelling a few days in between at the very least. reason being the time needed to travel to and fro in a single day would be crazy.

imagine to get to blue mountains/katoomba(where most tourists go), its a 1.5hrs drive and another 1.5hrs back, not taking into consideration sydney's traffic. or if you want to head up to hunter or down to southern highlands, its about 3 hours one way. the time spent travelling in between places is simply not worth it.

but lets say if everything is fixed and nothing can be changed, then go ahead and drive to the blue mountains but for anything more, i think you should book one of those day trips out instead unless you have a group of friends/family who dont mind driving a few hours so you can switch in between

all those i mentioned previously i guess.

oh, and i made a typo, its "southern highlands" not "central", lol. was thinking of central coast and what not.

you can go online and have a look at those day trips which they offer. its not cheap, but at least you dont have to worry about the driving or when/where to stop

For Lincoln's rock, if you want to get there by public transport, it will involve a very long walk from the highway. So in theory, it's possible, but in practice, nobody would do it.

If you don't mind the excessive driving, you can have a day trip west to the Blue Mountains, south along the coast to Kiama, north to Central Coast, a separate day also north to the Hunter Valley for wine, and south west to Southern Highlands. If you're insanely energetic, you can even fit in Canberra in a day trip. All of those trips will take care of most of your time in Sydney.

You can also walk on towards Coogee, which takes about 2-3 hours one-way. There are buses at both ends so if you're not driving, you can walk one-way and catch the bus back to where you need to be.

coogee, bronte and bondi beaches are all linked by public buses from sydney downtown... no problem to get around.

I'll be in Syd next week and i need to fetch my sis from the airport at about 6am, was thinking of driving, but not sure how the traffic will be.

And if there's a daily cap on Opal, i might just get her to take the train instead, since we'll be going around by train in the day later.

So it'll be airport to Beecroft station.

She should board the city train towards the front of the train. The train will most likely arrive Central on platform 21, and the elevator is right at the front-end of the platform. She will then need to get to platform 16 (if I remember correctly). Please also note that Beecroft is not wheelchair accessible, so expect some steps.

Not sure what your tolerance level is like. Temperature difference between day and night is also greater than what we are used to in SG. So t-shirt and berms might be comfortable in the day, and insufficient at night.
