Any way to avoid parking airport access fee for train at Sydney

dunno abt perth as i was only there FiFO for work never stay over night.
melb toilets is easy find. if u are on the streets of syd not really. unless u r in or beside shopping complex yes it is clean. I am just saying if bladder is an issue, this shud be your first lookout

no la, not concerned about food. it's only the dinner right upon touch-down becos afraid the elderly may be hungry. n they shouldn't be having cup noodles.
anyway, i just realise the hotel is only 10mins drive away, hahaa. so should be no issues at all la.

They built the light rail so you don't have to do the walk.

That's a difficult one, as virtually all of the more interesting places don't face west. There's a place called Sunset Rock near Mount Victoria but I have never been. In any case, you'll find that most places where you can see sunsets would be full of mountains/ranges/cliffs so it may not be worth the effort.

Just make sure the place is land side, as you won't be able to access anything air side. If you're desperate, McDonald's in the arrivals area closes at 10pm.

It's not as bad as it sounds. Most places are fine.

i supposed u said that becos u are taking scoot ? else flight usually provide dinner if ur flight lands at 8pm syd time

The cheapest way to access the airport is bus 400. It is also possible to walk to/from Wolli Creek (for international terminal) and Mascot (for domestic terminal) train stations.

Sunset: Will there be any nice sunset view at Darling Harbour? Or would it be better if we drive to Palm Beach instead and stay for the sunset.

Fruit picking: Any recommended farms for fruit picking near blue mountains? Currently shortlisted a few - Pine Crest Orchard, TNT Produce, Bilpin Fruit Bowl, Bilpin Springs Orchard, Wyuna Farms Pty Ltd, Cedar Creek Orchard, Shields Orchard which are open during our travel period.

It depends on where you're going to, and the traffic. I did try it during peak hour once - for the time it took the train to get to the city, I moved past 1 set of traffic light...

Sydney Outback/Countryside

Hey guys, any one can recommend where else to go beyond Sydney city? Have about 7 days, but don't plan to stay too long in the city (3-4days max). Preferably some countryside/farmstay/small towns.

We have three drivers, but preferably don't want to spend too much time driving.

You need to drive for an hour just to get out of Sydney, so there will be plenty of driving. May be the southern highlands area could work? It's a nice countryside area with a few big and small towns. It's roughly 2 hours drive from the city.

do they make a big loop? dont understand what incentive they have for doing so..

Yeah, that's becos Katoomba area is where you can see the 3 sisters and waterfalls, and where Scenic world is located (scenic railway & cable car). If I'm not wrong, Leura is just a small town (with a mall though)?
They're just 10min drive apart, so we can choose to stay at either areas when visiting the 3 sisters/scenic world.

Not sure about the car rental at the BM, there should be some available.. But take note if u need to drive back to the BM to return the car or if there is an city office whereby u can drop off the car instead.

I'm renting a car from Sydney city and driving to the BM so that we can stop by the fruit farms at Bilpin area, and drive to various lookouts around Katoomba that aren't accessible by public trains, and then featherdale wildlife park.

Also, driving to HV directly from Katoomba takes about 3hours+, whereas if you take the train from Katoomba to the city and then drive to HV, it takes 4hours+..

There are also cheese, and chocolate factories at HV.. or if you are interested, there are sand dunes which is slightly less than an hour drive away at Newcastle area.. There's this Starline Alpaca farm (30min drive from HV) but I'm not sure if it's an attraction or worth going yet..

it cost $86-112 from George street to Kingsford airport Via Uber. it means it will cost 10% more in Taxi.

Airport shuttle on the other hand is a lot cheaper, assuming ur hotel doesn't offer complimentary service, ownself ptely book hotel to airport shuttle only cost >>
$22aud/head and $166aud/10 heads

so for everyone's benefit who are reading this thread, no, for 1-2pax airport shuttle is still cheapest


what u mention had bother me quite a bit, so i did some quick googling just. I had to assumed u based ur experiences from elsewhere outside australia


conclusion : private Hire is still A LOT more expensive. unless u r in some remote place of remote airbase....
