That will be $2.14 per quarter, charged by CDP.

This was what I was told by the customer support.

I thought PFOF is more for fractional trade which is US market? SGX don't think support fractional shares

Closest competitor would be tiger, moomoo for e.g in terms of fee for SGX stocks,ETF
They can still do PFOF without fractional shares right? I would have the same doubts with Moomoo and tiger as well.

Anyway the space is damn competitive. Webull is waiving all charges so cost conscious (but PFOF ignoring) folks are going with webull.

Anyone tried to change holdings between brokers to maximise low brokerage cost? Really race to zero but with hidden costs haha.

Last time no BS like custody charges on my SCB/ UOB Kay hian account for sgx one. Sneaky af

Hi All,
I am looking to invest into ETFs and hold for long term say 10years. Which will cost less in terms of Fee - Syfe Trade or Interactive Broker? If someone can give break down, will be helpful.

Also I read somewhere to buy ETFs listed on LSE versus US to lower the tax? How to check that?

I have shorted listed following ETFs actually:
SPDR COMMUNICATION (XLC)
SPDR CONSUMER (XLY)
SPDR DOW JONES (DIA)
SPDR FINANCIAL (XLF)
SPDR TECHNOLOGY (XLK)
VANECK SEMICONDUCTOR (SMH)
VANGUARD US VALUE (VTV)

Webull is the best-in-class for SG people to buy into US/HK stocks, it is not as good as Webull Global since the options are quite 'buggy' but it will suffice for most cases. You can get additional social-media/feeds/news from MooMoo to supplement Webull.

I will still use Moomoo sometimes because Webull may revoke the zero comm or platform fees in the future. Moomoo also allow buying into SGX stuff which is quite great for securities dominated with SGD currency. Working with USD/HKD sometimes suck.

IBKR removed the inactivity fees, should be the best place to park your foreign ETFs/Stocks/Bonds for long term.

If you buy ETFs from LSE

for accumulative ETFs (i.e. ETFs that reinvest into itself):
most of the US dividend taxes have been priced into the ETFs. In the case of Ireland domiciled ETFs, they have priced in 15% dividend tax instead of 30% dividend tax.

for distributive ETFs (i.e. ETFs that give dividends), it depends. You probably have to seek the advice of the tax consultant or the fund managers.

the best way to find UCITS equivalent of US ETFs is to visit the ETF provider website and seek the following information:
a) What is the ETF tracking (e.g. S&P, DJIA, MSCI Developed World? etc)
b) Accumulative or Distributing (i.e. reinvesting into itself, or dividend giving?)
c) In the case of ETFs is not index tracking but is strictly actively managed, check out the management team and prospectus.

Once you have (a),(b),(c), you may try to use justetf website (https://www.justetf.com/en/etf-lists.html) and find UCITS alternatives. For recommendations:
1) Try to seek out ETFs that have listings in LSE. You can try other exchanges such as Frankfurt but you will then need to research on the taxes and regulations in other countries. Your brokerage may not have exposure to those exchanges either.
2) Try to seek out ETFs that are domiciled in Ireland. ETFs that are domiciled in Luxembourg may also have favourable tax treatments but I'm not sure how it plays out.
3) For accumulative ETFs, the performance/returns is the result of tracking + replication technique + expenses. So what you see on the chart is exactly what you should get minus the fees incurred when you close the position.
4) Liquidity or volumes traded on ETFs will impact tracking + replication techniques, which may directly impact performance/returns. Volume traded will inversely impact your purchase premium/price, however this may be insignificant if you going in for very long term.

Hi, anyone tried topping up USD with Wise to Syfe trade before?

Currently I have some USD in IBKR and wish to transfer to Syfe trade to make use of monthly free trade.

Don't think so. For SG ETF I have shared in other thread. Use poems 0.28% no minimum comm and the ETF goes into your CDP. This is the best option I have found so far.

As for US ETF, you need to know about currency exchange. IBKR has a minimum before you can change to USD. So for me I use Webull. The bare minimum to change to USD is USD 10 which means SGD 13-14 you can change liao. At what currency rate may not be as good as IBKR but if you change a few times you get a better average out currency exchange rate like your DCA concept. Also if you into US fractional shares Webull is USD 5 but this promo ending Sep2023.

SG market: we charge a commission fee of 0.06% of traded value (minimum S$1.98) for all trades on SG-listed securities. Kindly note that free trades do not apply to SG-listed securities.

US market: All new clients enjoy an introductory offer of unlimited free trades every month to trade US-listed securities for the first three calendar months. After the introductory period ends, we'll offer 2 free trades every month and USD 1.49 per trade thereafter.

poems cash plus account is like ibkr, moomoo, tiger broker all custodian account the stock don't go into your CDP. if you don't need to go into CDP then yes cash plus account really good. But take note they need you to make a trade every quarter else levy a fee. Tiger broker copy them as they don't wanna absorb I guess.
