Hi guys,
I have a Macbook air, which as you know 128GB of storage space. I want to sync a 25GB documents folder with stuff I want to access while offline, what is the best way to sync that with a NAS or with an MBP/iMac?
My situation is as follows: I'm using my MBA for college. I will be typing notes, typing reports, processing data, etc. on it while on the go. However, at home I will tend to use my MBP which is attached to an external display to continue those edits. So I need to sync the same folder across multiple devices. To note, when I switch over it will be on the same internal network, so I don't need external access to these files (eg access the files on my MBP while in school or sync over externally). Having the ability for external access is a plus though, but I'm behind the school firewall, on both server and client side as the server is in the dorm room.
I'm currently thinking of getting a NAS as well, so that could be an option. Either a off-shelf solution or a (preferred) micro server, so programs that provide this option on a server would be good as well. I know the obvious solution is dropbox, but the file's too big. Got to dump quite a fair bit of data that I want access to.
