system acting strangely and slow

hi,

last week, my windows pop up a message saying i need to activate online my windows again or else my windows might stop working,

i thought it might be virus and ignore it,

it came up again, i also ignore it,

then i noticed my firefox explorer, starts to slow down when i click like 4 or 5 tabs,

it was okay in the past until the message incident,

then i tried to update my itunes and i could not when i was prompted that there is a new version,

it just hang there when installing

i also noticed that when i install my itunes, when make some selection before clicking next, the next had a shield beside it,

i think i do not have administrator rights and i check online and right click the itunes to run as administrator,

but it failed in the itunes installation,

then i tried to uninstall itunes, i could not do so,

i search online for help and install microsoft uninstall and i managed to uninstall my itunes,

then when i tried to install the itunes again when reach the last step, it pop up a message saying that one of the files was unable to be written to because of administrator rights,

is my system attacked by virus or my windows is corrupted ?

can anyone advise if there is anyway to do or the only solution is to format and install windows again ?
