Just wondering. My dad is thinking of buying a tablet (those Samsung / Acer ones) but if he plans to use it to surf web in his shop or on-the-go, he needs to sign-up for those mobile internet plan? Similar to those handphone packages?

Kinda confused on this, cos' I don't remember seeing any ads on the newspapers that has mobile tablet phone plans.

We have the MaxInfinity plan at home, though.

Tks!

He could get a plan, or he could just tether to his existing smartphone data via wifi or bluetooth.

You don't remember seeing any ads? All those telco adverts on Saturdays with tablets come with data contracts.

Home internet has nothing to do with outside usage, unless your home internet plan came with a free mobile data card - which you should know better.

FYI, signing up with starhub have discount on mthly bill if your family are already subscribers of SCV/phoneline/broadband.

& I use my tablet (using mobile broadband of subscription fee $45+/mth) as hotspot for smartphone instead. Worth the value, since I listen to online radio & group play documents a lot. :)
