Hi hope u guys can help me on my itinerary abit.. We have 6 ppl and if possible would like to take public transport instead.. Unless no choice then I have to get a driver..

Day 1
0600 hrs -Reach taoyuan airport
0700hrs - might wait for shop to open to top SIM card
Take bus to Taichung 国光客运 (国光号)1860 /建明客运(飞狗巴士)5503 / 统联客运 1623
Depend on which of the bus suits our timing..

0930hrs - Should reach Taichung before this timing
Put luggage at 53 Hotel.
921 earthquake museum - Lavender cottage - Carton king - Summit Castle Resort - Fengjia NM

Day 2
Sun moon lake - Formosa cultural village - Banana new paradise - Yizhong Street

Day 3
Miyahara - Rainbow Village
Check out 1200hrs, take train to xinwuri station and change to HSR to Taipei..

Is it possible with my above itinerary or is there any places which I could add in? All these are jus planning.. Any advices would be good.. Thanks..

hard to go by public transport.try for pte cab since u got 6 pax

Day 2
Sun moon lake - Formosa cultural village - Banana new paradise - Yizhong Street
not enough time. SML will take u 3/4 day to 1 day. unless u are skipping some of the attractions.

Day 3
Miyahara - Rainbow Village
Check out 1200hrs and proceed to HSR to Taipei..

i heard T2 ChungHwa opens at 7?
can double check the SIM Card thread

personally while planning for my taiwan trip in march
i realized it will be more comfortable to spend 1 night in SML
too many places and alot of dependency on ferry timings

I was quoted for NTD11000 for the 2 days for 6 person and I had to give up going 921 museum.. Is the cost reasonable? Still considering whether to look for other drivers or travel using the public transport ourselves..

just to bear in mind that rainbow village is not a proper attraction- it's just a group of houses that has been painted by a war veteran, though really beautiful and moving. you'll spend 1 hour there at most (i myself took only 30 minutes, including time spent chatting with the painter)

like others have said, day 2 is too packed. there's actually plenty to do/see around SML if you are keen on covering most of the attractions and especially if you like hiking/cycling and enjoying nature at a slower pace.

From your list 921 is far and out. Not really convenient. Think you can skip. Been there and see the damage from the damage of earthquake etc.

You will need at least two cars for the six of you. Think that is why you are stuck at this price. To get to xinshe, no public transport there leh. Last time we took a scooter. From Taichung city to even Mon coeur, took us about an hour...
Now lavender cottage is further :(

Yap. It's opened at 7am at T2 departure level, not arrival. Meaning if you arrive at T1, need to proceed to T2 by skytrain etc.

Since you try to arrange a pte transport, save yourself the hassle of bus or HSR. Ask them to quote la. Then easier for yourself and the 5 others.

You price doesn't seems like a 9 seater price.

Last i recalled was hualien, taxi quote me 2.5-3k for a day in taroko. Then we got a 9 seater from minsu paid about 3.5-4k. Think you got is a wish ba. Likely it is gonna be a squeeze. Better check clearly. Dun fall for the wrong pricing.

Its a long and bumpy ride. I rather pay 11k. Save that 500, and it is not getting any comfier. 500/2/6, one person paying like 40+Nt more.

Just my two cents...

Fully packed. Not likely it is gonna be enjoyable, but just take it easy, not crazy. Even earlier fw79 mentioned lesser itinerary, but u still try packing it. Oh well...
