Hi All, I will be travelling to Taiwan next month and I would like to seek advice for following itinerary for places I would like to visit. Will be going with my sister, mum and grandma.

Also, should I book ONE same cab driver for all the places or should I book separately for different locations (in terms of convenience and price).

Should I go for:
1) Sun Moon Lake/Taichung -> Chiayi/Alishan -> Hualien/Taroko National Park -> Taipei or
2) Chiayi/Alishan -> Sun Moon Lake/Taichung -> Hualien/Taroko National Park -> Taipei or
3) Chiayi/Alishan -> Sun Moon Lake/Taichung -> Taipei -> Hualien/Taroko National Park

Day 1: Arrived Taoyuan airport in the morning -> Cab pick up to Sun Moon Lake and tour around Taichung -> Stay over at Taichung Minsu
Day 2: Tour around taichung -> Fenchihu -> Alishan -> Tour Around Alishan -> Stay over at Alishan Minsu
Day 3: Wake up early for sunrise -> Rest -> Morning towards Hualien Taroko National Park -> Tour around Hualien -> Stay over at Hualien (alternative: should i go to taichung sun moon lake then taipei first then from taipei to hualien? Then next day hualien jiufen shifen back to taipei?)
Day 4: Hualien to Taipei -> Jiufen -> Shifen -> Keelung Night Market (Should I book 1 or 2 day cab driver service with the next day instead?)
Day 5: Yehliu -> Beitou -> Tamsui -> Fisherman Wraft -> Ximending (Should I book 1 or 2 day cab driver service with the previous day instead?)
Day 6: Long Shan Shi -> Taipei 101 -> Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall > Wufenpu -> Raohe (Can do without hire a cab also)
Day 7: Ximending -> Airport in the afternoon (Hire cab for airport transfer)

If possible, can also advice on the food and accommodation that it can be useful for my stay there. How much will it be if I book cab driver separately or for the same driver for the itinerary above?
Appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Option 2 is better. Travel from south to north. If you haven't booked your ticket yet, you may want to consider stopping at kaohsiung since it is cheaper + easier to go to alishan from there. You can simply take the TRA to Chiayi and get a driver from there to bring you to all the places above.

Day 2-you might want to catch the sunrise at Alishan
Day 3-to answer your question, taichung-hualien-taipei seems more smooth to me
Day 4-alternatively, all those places are actually accessible by public transport
Day 5-same as Day 4
Day 6-this one confirm don't need to cab. at all
Day 7-tip: get the driver to drop you at the bus terminal (where the buses go to taoyuan airport). sometimes/often, there are cab drivers who want to return to the airport (because that's where the business is) but they do not want to return with an empty cab). so usually they will charge very cheap, like 40% of the normal price.

I have no insight on the rates for drivers, apologies. however i would feel that it is better to get as few drivers as possible. meaning you should consolidate your trips (especially those on day 2 and 3) and just get 1 driver.

Finally, i would recommend you to go to CingJing sheep farm since the places you are going to usually incorporate this place into the plan. meaning your driver may already have a fixed trip from Alishan --> SML --> Cingjing --> Taroko so you might as well go. Plus it is a nice place anyway ;)

You can engage a taxi driver from http://www.taipei-taxi.com/ to meet your family at Taoyuan Airport to pick you up, then start your multiple days and nights journey to the following destinations.

You can book the hotel/minsu by yourself or they can help you book through their contacts. Talk to them and ask for a quotation for a custom itinerary.
