Taiwan CNY2014 trip

I just came back from Nam Ho travel fair, The tour agency said during chinese new year taipei area will be crowded. Thus is it better to go to area like Taichung and Kaosiung. Please advise. Thank you.

People go back to their hometown during Cny as well so other cities will also be crowded.
I think it's not an issue to travel in Taiwan anywhere during Cny but just make sure that you try to book your accom, train tickets etc in advance because if you don't you ll be stranded for sure?!?
