taiwan solo backpack trip

Hello, I am intending to go taiwan during march next year( preferably taichung or hualien area, places of scenic attraction ) for a solo free and easy trip. Its my first time going on solo trip, coz cant find friends with suitable schedule to go along. I'm intending to stay in a backpack hostel, and hopefully it will be good to find any like minded folks( males or females, all are welcomed !) here whom love carefree travelling and prefer scenic attractions to join me. Yeah, taiwanese people are very friendly, keep get lost in finding my hotel location many times, but they are very helpful and guided me.
