Taking public bus in Taiwan

Hi just wanna confirm this since haven't been taking their buses for awhile.

Upon boarding no need scan Easy Card right? Only upon press bell alight then scan?

Look out for the signs in the bus. The bus driver will also remind if need to pay first.

Depends.
Always follow the first person, lastly, look at signage above driver's seat.
They will show in LED, 上下刷卡。

Depends where you are. Taichung up down also must scan

Taipei- depends on the bus
If in doubt, scan up and down. if you scan on the way up when you dont have to, they will charge you but when you get off and scan again they will detect you already paid then wont charge again

Guys I'm going to Taipei in May for the 1st time, I'm curious how to find out what buses to take from point A to Point B. Are there bus directories like what we have in SG?
