Tapatalk for HWZ forum?

So many forumers here now use iPhone, BlackBerry, Android and Nokia phones with data plan. Most browse their favourite forums using their mobile devices. But most of us know the frsutration of using small screen, even with pinch and zoom of iphone and android phones.

Recently i discovered Tapatalk, http://www.tapatalk.com/. Very usefull to browse forum using my Google Nexus One.

The free version of Tapatalk cant really do much, full version, which cost US$2.99. Is very very usefull.

Sad thing is Forum Owners have to install plugin into the forum, so not all forum are accesible. Good news is, for forum owners its free for them to install.

Hope mods see this and install plugin into HWZ forums!

Hi all, thanks for the keen feedback and support on this matter.

I believe this was responded much earlier in another thread.
To recap, Tapatalk while useful as it sounds, it's a limitation in terms of long-term development and improvement. It's no doubt a quick pill, but it won't serve our purposes in the long run. That's why we didn't turn to this service.

However, there are plans to support other devices like Android and more in the future. Hang in there folks. I understand some of you are frustrated but lets just say there has been some urgent matters that needed resolution and they are being tackled at the moment such as the server issues before we can concentrate on further site development.

Thank you and I hope to bring more good news in the future.

I agree. We need tapatalk activated. Its been 9 months since the mod gave his reason yet we see no progress. Whats so tough about activating tapatalk in the interim?

We can reveal at this moment that we're doing something about these suggestions. What exactly and at what stage, we can't say, but do take our word for it, we are definitely looking into this and have come further than when the idea was 1st put forward.

No need to spend $$$ developing for three major platforms.
No need to keep your users waiting waiting waiting more than 1 yr.

Taptalk is the leading forum browser across all the platforms.

For an administrator, I would think the choice is obvious?!

In fact, I would add, I spend less time browsing HWZ now because I use BoardExpress (tapatalk for Windows Phone) for all my forums...can't be bothered with HWZ on mobile browser.

tapatalk is almost perfect. it is quite easy to implement, just install the plugin can liao.

bump up the old thread for the new year, hoping maybe the HWZ admins may change their mind about installing the tapatalk plug-in.

With much more users now browsing on their smartphones, it make sense to make the experience as easy as possible. Loading the full site, or even mobile sites can be time consuming. No matter what, i doubt it will never be as fast as having a dedicated app which simply just pulls the information without wasting resources and time on pulling the user interface and all. Also with the restricted data speeds on mobile devices, it can be a painful process.

I dont see how installing the plug-in will hinder the future developments of this forums. HWZ in using vbulletin which tapatalk could basically just pulls the information on the forum which will make it easier for users to access the forums on the go. I for one would NEVER visit HWZ on my phone, even if i have replies to thread, pm or whatever. Because it is just too troublesome. On the contrary, since using tapatalk, i find myself using other forums which supports tapatalk a lot more often. Simple and straight forward.

Unless HWZ is intending to mirate away from vbulletin and use something else, i dont see a valid reason for not installing the plug-in. It will not dilute the opportunity for the forum to earn from ads, as people will still visit the full page when they are in front of their laptops or desktops. Instead, it will bring more traffic to the site as more people could now access the forums easily on-the-go.

+1 for tapatalk on HWZ forums.
