ytd night first time i encountered.. i flag down many taxis.. like close to 10 taxis..

i was at rod fai 2 night market at ratchada area.. wanted to go back to my hotel at intercon bkk. most of the taxis i flag down really dont bother or say they dunno wheres the place and ask me to go flag the next taxi.

damn funny leh i mentioned central world, holiday inn, four face buddhda, intercon, gave them hotel namecard they cant be bothered and say they dont know...

knn end up i approached a tuk tuk driver, only he sincerely made an effort to read the name card and tell me he roughly know.. then he actually drove us to central world then i guided him to the hotel..

i bargained the price and he reluctantly accepted to drive us, but end up i tipped him after he dropped us and he was abit surprised and thanked us. wah first time i encoutered this.. i been to rod fai 2 night market few times already perhaps last time i stayed at pratunam area so i just mentioned pratunam market and they know...

this is the first time i encoutered like if u venture abit further then maybe that area taxi drivers abit not sure...

hmmm... i think it's they not keen to go cos traffic jam? i always need to flag several cabs down at yaowarat before one agrees to go to siam, pratunam, chitlom, sathorn.

sometimes, i'm reluctant to go to yaowarat bcos of this. sumkhumvit (T21) also they can be reluctant to go.

What time did you wanted to return to your hotel? Most likely is due to the traffic that they dont want to pick you. Can always offer fix price to the driver they may pick you if you do so.

I encountered same problem before like taxi drivers refused to pick me up especially to shopping areas like MBK etc etc. End up had to take Motosai instead. I think its most likely due to the traffic jam.

Normally is due to jam. Who had taken the mrt then change to bts maybe even faster then flagging down 10 cabs 555.

Traffic jam is one of the reasons why many taxi dun wan fetch cross district, eg from lat phrao to siam or yaowarat to T21. If I am the taxi driver, I know jolly well once I go there, next passanger super high chance will be sinkies or ah toing or twmm once open door keep shouting "meter! meter" . For I also dunno where they wan to go. :s8:

So I might as well fetch around Lat phrao area then later song song back to my kumpong or stay within yaowarat for the same reason. :D

took a cab there @ 150b fixed.

return trip offered 200b rejected by at least 9-10 taxis. tuk tuk quote us 250b i bargained to 180b and he took us with abit like sian face lah... but i paid him 200b when we reached the hotel.

no choice no bargaining chips for meter cos 2 of my kids slept already and need a ride back fast.. just hope any cabs can just take us... so we dint even mention meter when they roll down their windows to ask.

There a lot of cab, maybe take to on nut bts lor but check see whats the last BTS service.

Alternatively you can go across Seacon square and take the white song thaew number 4 which will bring u to the Big C near on nut BTS for 8 bahts. From there change to BTS

also taken a cab from pratunam to yaowarat abt 65b by meter
tried for quite some time , flag about 8 cab, then finally one nice driver willing to bring us there by meter ...
since not sure how to tell the driver to drop us at the ling zhen xiang
hence we just told the driver to alight us at shanghai mansion hotel
then we slowly walk there, and look look see see

Just to share one more good cheap fast way to go Seacon square, take airport rail link to Hua Mak, walk out to bus stop and take bus number 145 and alight right infront of seacon square. Talat Rot Fai Srinakarin just beside it.
