So am planning to buy a new TV with a budget of 1.4k as my LG TV is faulty
Which brand is safe to go for?

TCL TV itself is better but their local distributor is another issue

At $1.4K, probably both just as good/bad. Maybe TCL has better visuals, but Prism+ value and warranty support.

Better tech vs. better support.
Very tough choice indeed.

Am in the same dilemma right now, deciding what replacement TV to buy for my in-laws.

Am leaning towards P+, and waiting to see if their 2023 QE price will go down further after LNY driven by competition.

For midrange TVs, I like the natural visuals and support for Philips TVs.

Seems like Philips is good choice too?
To me, Philips' colors are natural enough. May not be as saturated as the Chinese brands, but good enough. Support is great too. Of course, depends on budget, size and the exact model. Philips normally use IPS panels, so contrast won't be as deep as TCL's VA panel, but better color accuracy, I feel. People watching in the dark at night in a dark room will like the deep blacks of VA panel while day watchers may like the brighter colors of the Philips, Hisense and Prism+ IPS panels. Solo viewers can appreciate VA panel while family-setting works better with IPS panel for wider viewing angle. All depends on users' needs.

Prism is no longer value when the price is way higher than Xiaomi.
Depends on specific models. OLED and 100" are some examples. Just as Sony is touted to have superior image processing, I feel Philips does it better than Xiaomi. Image processing isn't something easily quantifiable in terms of value simply based on TV size and price.

Question, why not another new LG at a similar price point?

Arguably, LG has the best UI and UX for TVs.
They only lack the range of apps since they are in a closed ecosystem unlike Android TV options.

LG ? Hmm maybe can consider that too given the price point

They aldy have shop at Yishun Northpoint. I don't see there would be an issue. You can find them anytime if their CS no good. Not a brand would have its own shop. Most of the brands are sold through the reseller. So far only prim and TCL have their shop at malls.

Xiaomi have their own physical stores way earlier than the 2 brands you have mentioned.
