Actually Samsung, LG, TCL, Hisense and Foxconn (Sharp) more solid because they have their own panel. Prism built nothing but it doesn’t stop them to be like Dell. But their quality control is not like Dell

I would say same. But Dell excel on (1) Quality and innovation (2) Customer Service (3) Customisation (4) Strong supply chain and partnership.

A China company that has done as well is Xiaomi

TCL came to install my tv few days ago. The installer is a young chap that is super experience and meticulous. He did a few rounds of measurement and alignment. As I was changing my soundbar, he also patiently wait for me to position my sound bar and adjust my tv height. Really very good service.

Now sure whether this will last or not.

Sharing my journey with TCL especially after-sales support:
  • Purchased 65" C825 (with 3 year full warranty) in July 2022. TBF the TCL mini-led quality is very high for the price paid. Quite often guests to our house commented how good TV looks. Very bright plus deep blacks like OLED. I'll take this any day compared to OLED. Best of both worlds.
  • TV developed panel failure early July 2024. Cannot fix onsite by technician so they arranged to pick up the TV.
  • They promised to find solution. Either get parts to repair or replace TV with equivalent value. I managed to secure loaner tv (C645) which they delivered quite quickly.
  • July-Dec 2024: Let's just summarise this period as very long ping-pong game of promises but no action taken. At first, I try to be respectful and understanding. TBF the CS sounds polite on Whatsapp. But months after months of stock messages saying the same thing i also reached my limit. No more mr nice guy.
  • I actually wonder how these CS people at TCL can tahan possibly hundreds of customers like me every day. If they have a bit of feeling for other human, surely must have some PTSD doing this job.
  • Dec 2024: "The management offer" is to accept new TV but lower specs and size based on value of remaining warranty. Or get refunded for remaining warranty value (about $700++)
  • I still feel this offer not fair. Bought "premium TV" but cannot use for 6 months. Then at the end of this situation, I might end up with something that is of lower specs and size. Also, sounds like they can only guarantee their TV will work for 3 years if lucky and not more. Why buy like that if so disposable?
  • But in the end I accepted refund offer. Grateful that I still got back 1/3 of what I paid originally for TV and also had loaner TV for last half year for my kids to play video games and family time.
Would I buy TCL again? TBH I'm tempted because the technology is so good compared to dollar paid for other brands. I actually bought speakers for the C825. I thought I can enhance the sound but in the end, the in-built Onkyo speakers were even better than the speakers.

But is it worth the after-sales experience/heartache? I don't think so. My experience also similar to many others so this is still going to be a high risk moving forward. I took the refund and bought a Sony Bravia 7 mini-LED. I read the Sony after-sales support is much better so hopefully the extra money paid can avoid the silly time-wasting and frustrating chats with TCL after-sales people.

PS. I wanted to put in a CASE complaint so I went to google for TCL Singapore UEN. No such company in Singapore. Instead the company I received refund from is called 'Felando International Group'. So is there really a "TCL Singapore" company or just another distributor?

My Prism+ TV also spoil after use for 1 yr.

Use 1 yr and 1 month TV got IPS panel bleed.

IMG-4595.jpg

Contacted Prism+, they came to inspect then do a 1 to 1 exchange few days later.

2nd set got faint black lines, called Prism+, they send technician come my house, after inspect they do 1 to 1 exchange again, 3rd set also the same as 2nd set got faint black lines.

they send technician come house to inspect, somemore is same technician. feedback to him that last 2nd and 3rd set also got this issue, maybe is manufacturing or qc issue, and ask them if can change to QLED model with top up. The technician also ask me if they can open up the Q-QE model at their warehouse to check Prism+ did investigation on the Q-QE model and came to a conclusion that it is the qc issue, then they say upgrade to Q-Ultra model without additional charge. I checked their website difference without discount is around 400+. Q-QE is IPS panel while Q-Ultra is QLED panel.

TV came last Friday, delivery guy took away my Q-QE model TV and passed me the Q-Ultra model. The Q-Ultra model dont have faint black lines across. Happy with the upgrade replacement. Wasted like 4-5 days of leave from 1st set check till 3rd set check by technician, but worth it though. I mean which TV company give you free upgrade and 1 to 1 exchange. Of course warranty never reset la..

TV nowadays cannot last long one, people always say prism+ lousy, other brand also the same. tech is see heng sway one. Overall good customer support from Prism+. When this TV spoil after warranty ends, i definitely be looking into Prism+ mini-LED or OLED model. If you ask me why last yr dont buy mini-LED or OLED model, my prism+ tv is free from telco from re-contract. of course free they will give basic model which is Q-QE model. if i spend money to buy i sure get mini-LED or OLED model, who the hell would want to buy low end model unless you have budget issue. Now they change to Q-Ultra model, at least my TV now not low-end model but mid range. Google TV, no lag also. Dont know people say Prism tv lag, i cant see any lag on my TV so far.

I used Sony, Samsung, LG, Xiaomi, Hisense before. All doesn’t last after 3 years. Prism and TCL like same same la. 1 is good quality tv but poor service while the other is old OEM model with good service. Both to me is quite cui. But by paying more for Sony, Samsung, one may not get the top quality product nor the best service quality. A lot depends on luck. I think the top brands also know, if tv don’t spoil, then how we make money?

3 years spoil to me is reasonable. No spoil then can’t change new. I think the price has fallen drastically. I recall Samsung Qled 65” used to be like $2700. Now at $2,200, we can buy the 75” Qled. Maybe later will be 100” at $2,200.

I understand your frustration. I backside itchy bought an ecovac. It doesn’t work well and keep breaking down. Wife send down till tulan and demanded never to touch this junk again. Chinese are well known for their lousy quality and customer service. That is why they are never up there with the top brands like Apple, Samsung, Tesla. TCL like any Chinese companies make good products but until they beef up their reliability and service level, they will remain a lousy China brand. It is so strange. Their delivery person is so professional whereas I read report that the customer service are junk

I am facing a similar situation with TCL, I also bought TCL C825 65 inch TV in Mar 2022. The TV started to act up in 2024, in July the screen started to have black lines and TCL CS confirmed it will be replaced. I have followed up with them a few times on whatsapp but always got the same answer that the replacement TV is being processed but always pending.

I did not get a loaner TV btw. In late Dec, the TV screen finally failed and upon checking with the TCL CS, they offered me these two options below, I have rejected them but wonder what can I do now. Waiting for the replacement TV that may never come? Or submit to CASE or Small Claim Tribunal but according to your research, there is no such TCL Singapore Company?!?

Hi, thank you for your patience. Understand that we are unable to repair your original TV, the C825 65", and the replacement is still pending, here are two options we can offer to assist:
1. Replacement Option: We can provide you with a brand-new TV equivalent to the remaining warranty amount of $466.44 (calculated as $2099/36 months × 8 months remaining). Please note that the replacement TV may not be the same size as your original, and the warranty will continue from your current warranty period.
2. Offset Option: You may use the remaining warranty amount as a credit to offset the purchase of a new TV.
Please let us know if any of the alternative options above interest you, so we can assist you in resolving this matter as quickly as possible.

I think it is

ACL IMPEX PTE. LTD.

UEN
201013588M

it has been near to 2 years, will win the case? Perhaps SCT is the best approach

The option they offered you is not ideal but better than my ecovacs robot vacuum:

(1) takes 2 weeks to repair then pass another faulty set to me
(2) send in again then no news
(3) ask to escalate but management busy
(4) worst is after 2 weeks of repair, spoil again.
(5) if not will tell you they overwhelmed, replied will be delayed

Lol! Mine is run back and forth their service centre like monkey.

Thank you! ACL Impex seems only carry the aircon products, not the TVs.

I wonder if there is a way to better expose these wrong CS practices to let more people know, such as through social media or opinion leaders

TCL cui.. every now and then saw people doing TCL live stream on tik tok and shopee..
they always promote say TCL good, 3 yrs warranty, anything call customer service blah blah.
then TV spoil like find who? lousy CS.

Luckily Prism+ CS not like that.. i also had a hard time conviencing Prism+ to change another model for me due to current batch issue, they say cannot change to another model, say no top up allowed, etc. i dig up their T&C, found out a point whereby they say warrant does not cover upgrade of another model unlessed AUTHORISED by Prism+, copy and paste the T&C in the email then they let me change to another model without charging me due to QC issue. TV use going to 2 weeks liao so far no issue.

Thats why for me i rather support Prism+ than TCL. next time my TV spoil go back to Prism+, want to try their OLED or mini-LEd model
