Tea more expensive than gold!!

My wife blanja me dinner the other night for our 25th year anniversary. She knows I mountain tortoise seldom come down from the mountain. Brought me to this chinese restaurant, normally I will bring her to japanese restaurants as I prefer japanese cuisine. In our 25years, we have never been to a chinese restaurant for anniversary dinner.

The food is ordinary pretending to be atas. They have a tea menu that blew my mind. 1888sgd/10g was the most expensive. They use wine from China for their wine pairing. Started with a rose, chardonnay, cabsav/mellow and ended with a dessert wine that tasted like plum wine. Service was very good though. I could post pictures but I forgot how to. Hahaha

Of course I enjoyed her company, not the food though. Just not used to the ah tiong seasoning. Most dishes have a distinctive smell that you smell when you walk past one of those malapot place.

Chinese tea is like wine..

Depending on the year, harvest conditions and aging, it can be worth a lot.. There's also many variation of tea plants just like the grape varieties used in wine..

Some varieties are rarer, tougher to grow and produce small quantity...

Nope... didnt order tea, had water and wine pairing instead. They did serve us 2 different tea. A welcome tea that has a very strong rose smell, and a dessert tea made from shrivelled bergamot (Buddha hand fruit)
