Telco Queries (Restock / Change)

Few queries:

1. Does anyone know how often do SingTel restock their phones i.e. specifically on iPhone 13 Pro (1TB) variant?
2. I have an existing number with Starhub, but the NRIC is registered under my parent's.
   If I would like to port the number over to SingTel with me as the registrar, I will need to physically (with my parent) visit one of the shops to make the transfer right? Given that stock is only available online for SingTel, is it possible to first register with my parent's NRIC, make the purchase, and subsequently do a transfer at a much later date? However, this means that I will not be able to utilize my CIS right?
3. Three months prior to the lapse of contract will be available for a re-contract - does this apply for cancellation as well?

1. Whenever they get new stock from Apple, I suppose.

2. If you intend to buy the phone & contract online, then go with your parent to Starhub & transfer the line to your name. Then port to Singtel & buy the phone online with your CIS.

3. No, if you want to cancel, you need to complete the entire contract first. If you cancel with 3 months to go, you will be charged early termination fee for 3 months.

On a separate note, not sure what your needs are, but it's almost always cheaper to get a SIM only plan & buy the phone outright, rather than a contract with a telco. Might want to consider that as a option instead

I have read couple of articles online, and they do state that buying the phone via Apple store, and get a SIM only plan is relatively cheaper. How does the calculation work out though - I tried to calculate it, but it still seems that getting a contract with a telco is marginally cheaper.

The following is based on a set of assumptions:

• iPhone Pro 13 (1TB)
• CIS-Plan
• Caller ID monthly cost excluded since it is FREE for both plans
• Service fee excluded since indifferent for both plans

Is there something wrong with the comparison?

Suggest you do a ownership transfer with StarHub. Than you sign up Singtel CIS when they have stock online.

not true if you have good CIS discount. i.e. 30-35% and above.

but in the end i went for sim only + purchase iphone from apple with 20% staff discount.
