Telco Tracks Consumers' Presence?

Hi,

I am kinda freak out at the thought of being tracked and hopefully someone has similar experience or able to provide advice on course of action to take.

Background Info:
I was at Vivocity and visited StarHub customer service centre there with my partner for matters pertaining to her mobile account with StarHub. During the whole duration there, it was my partner who provided her particulars and her NRIC for required service assistance to StarHub staffs, including taking a queue number. At no point in time did I nor my partner provide my particulars nor contact number to anyone. And I am not using a StarHub mobile line.

Not too long after we left the StarHub customer service centre, I received two (2) consecutive SMS from what appears to be originated from StarHub (denoted with the <StarHub>) and mobile number +65 9024 5870 (as shown in the screenshot below).

Major Concern:
I am very puzzled and concerned with the two (2) SMS. I am so troubled and have so many questions popping up my mind ever since.

How did StarHub manage to track me, who is not using a StarHub Mobile line, visiting their shop?
Is that not considered tracking me and my presence?
Is that considered an invasion of privacy?
Is this allowed under our law?

I am considering my options...

1) Never heard Singapore got privacy law like Canada

2) Does Telco share a data together, despite being competitor in nature?

3) Did the GPS turned on?

Never encounter this before, perhaps an expert can better refine more ideas on why?

I did port over from SH to the current telco almost a decade ago (8 years I think). But I have since changed my mobile number through a pay-n-select-number service from the competitor.

Glad to see someone who comprehend the context and the key point I am puzzled and disturbed about.

best is to use landline

most satki is to buy 10KM of landline like signaller carry in your backpack

confirm nobody will intrude your privacy

my prepaid sim card also don't know why so many sell property and ah long get my number

i only gave it to the banks and hospital

anyway going to stop using hp in feb next year

u take queue for the 1000th sinkie without mobile line also no chance.

my auntie n uncles have not use hp at call.

Once i pass them a nokia hp at hospital because one of the elderly hospitalize.., when it rings, there were 4 one together n no one knew the hp was ringing until the nurse answer for them.
