I will buy an expensive lens first and then buy a tele-convertor to go with it.

Any user can share their experiences of using Tele-Converter ?

Cost and portability consideration. I have a 1.4x tele-converter for my 70-200 f2.8 nikon lens. Gives me a boost when I really need it and I don't do birds or animals photography that requires long range. You lose some light and some quality, but well if contents is what that truly matters to you, then the choice is pretty obvious between having zoomed in details and no details :)
