Thanks for all the advice so far... right now I'm looking at a 420mm rad for the front panel (coolest air intake, quiet).

Between Barrow/BarrowCH and EKWB, which one is more "leak proof" in your experience? Is there a big difference in terms of the noise/reliability of the various pumps?

Go for 120mm variants instead, coz good SP fans are usually in 120mm. Other than noctua but it is superby expensive.

Both ekwb and barrow are good quality. Mine haven had any lraks yet unless there is a missing o ring. IMO, i will avoid xspc parts, their rotary is very loose though it doesnt leak. Bp ek, barrow all need some force to rotate.

For pumps, d5 is quieter and moves more water. DDC is smaller, noiser a bit, moves less water but can have more pressure.

In short, if u r buying those distro blocks, u r limited by ddc unless u custom make to fit D5. If it is the traditional res+pump combo, d5 is usually used.

Adding on to Shadow84 the fittings base on my experience there's no difference. I have tried both Barrow and BP the Barrow one no issue at all. So I would suggest go Barrow. It save the cost. If you ever decide to go bp please chat with the agent to make sure that the blocks fits your cpu and gpu. Because if it does not match they won't entertain you for refund or return.

U guys do yr own loop or engage someone else to do?

I actually just started my watercooling biz with my partner and we have done almost 30 rigs so far. I do not want to seem as advertising but since someone asked I post.

You can PM me for more information for photos and the setups we have done.

Yeah, I'm going to use a Phanteks R220 and so will add in a DDC motor.

Barrow also got something like this under their category. Worth to take a look. They have an official store in taobao as well. Makes buying much more easier.

Besides, phanteks isnt well know to make WC stuff. Most liekly, it is oem by another brand. EK or BP maybe?

Possibly, but I do have an Evolv X so it fits perfectly.

Barrow pumps are Laing DDC copies, right? Any cheaper options to get an original Laing?

I did a pure Barrow loop on my ITX build last year after 10 years when I first dabbled with liquid cooling with flexible tubing. The aesthetics of hard tubing is just too hard to resist for me and I was looking for a challenge rather than another air cooling build.

Laing sells the design to others, so i dun think it makes much diff. If it makes u feel better, u can buy from bp, ek which is more ex.
