Hi, currently, I have two iphone plans. One is with starhub and the other with m1. I wish to terminate the subscription plan with m1 but I want to retain the number under m1 and replace the starhub number with this m1 number before I terminate the m1 service. Is it possible? Pls advise, thanks!!

Simple. Approach Starhub CSC and inform them u wanna port over your M1 and to replace the existing Starhub number.

Take note, once the porting is done, u r liable for any early termination charges (if any) on M1's side.

Btw, why do u wanna terminate M1? Their data services are way superior than Starhub compared. Think wisely.

By porting over the number, do you mean that the m1 service is considered terminated and I do not have to inform m1? Once the number is ported over to my existing starhub line, what will happen to my starhub number? Can it be replaced by the m1 number or will I incur extra charges to remove my starhub number? Thanks! :D

yep. once u inform starhub to port over yr m1 no., its considered yr service with M1 is automatically terminated. No further action is needed to inform M1.

Once porting is done, yr existing starhub no. is gone and will be replaced with the M1 no. No extra charges dood. Its number portability.

once again I remind u, make sure u have no existing contract with m1. once u port over, yr liable for (IF ANY) termination charges on m1 side.

Thanks for ur help! It was clear as crystal. Hmm so far, the impression I got from M1 was that they do not give much perks and their data is less compared to starhub's. 4GB>3GB

If u want good lte/3g speeds, try singtel.
If u got lots of m1 frens to call, use m1 n they give free calls to 3 m1 numbers.
If u want cheap..starhub has it

So far using M1, their 3G speeds have improved considerably as well. Now I can stream YouTube on my iP4S (which only supports HSPA 14.4 Mbps max) with hardly any buffer. Their LTE is pretty okay (I'm getting a fairly consistent 20-30 Mbps on my iPhone 5 around different parts of the country), but not as fast as Singtel albeit still in the "actual" performance range listed on their website.

SingTel is definitely faster (currently I have a line with them, and I used to have 4+internet in the past) but their phone customer service sucks big time. I hardly ever had a pleasurable experience with them over the phone. Online customer service is somewhat decent. Be careful not to get overcharged by SingTel though. SingTel has arguably the fastest 3G/LTE speeds around, but it also varies with location.

Each carrier has its pros and cons. However I would suggest thinking twice before terminating M1 and porting to StarHub. Some of my friends are using StarHub and they always complain about the network. I have not been with Starhub for a long time hence I am in no position to determine if they're good or bad, but I would definitely stick to a consistent carrier.

I ported over to M1 from SH some time back. N

Not much difference except that SH messed up my contract and stressed me up real back twice over billing. Never had any billing problems with M1.
