EV stocks have priced in big growth over a long timeframe, leaving them particularly vulnerable to shifts in sentiment," said Robert Cowell, a Shanghai-based equity research analyst of 86Research. "Also competition is probably a part of it. There can only be a few market leaders in the long term

There’s this one market leader who released the Model S in 2012, and the world’s still playing catch-up in 2021, 9years on, supercar europeans dont even come close.no need to even talk about surpassing. Valuation aside, i think its a pretty darn amazing story.

Need not thank me .

Mercedes ,Toyota,Honda or Hyundai EVs may be the number 1 or 2 here .
Tesla may be like Skoda . See one is like strike 4D.

I will try to support Hyundai since they pump money here.

Hopefully their EV can make it in future

You must have bought holding Testa @>$850 .

With such assumption statement. Then you must have missed the early boat and being sour now? ;)

Tesla hardcore for some .
But many future EV car buyers out there are more practical & the choices are aplenty sooner or later.
Toyota,Honda ,Mercedes or BMW will be like Kodak / Blackberry soon if they don’t wake up now.

Lol may be. And maybe Tesla will continue to be the leader.........

I'm perfectly fine being called Tesla hardcore as company gained huge profit since pre-stock split.
It's hilarious that someone like you spreading FUD here but on the other hand, cheerleading SIA like excited small kid who is happy for that recent $4-5 25% growth.

BANGKOK: As American electric vehicle maker Tesla eyes up a hefty investment in Indonesia, concerns are growing over the potential environmental consequences of a nickel mining rush.

Tesla has reportedly tabled a proposal to establish a battery production facility in the country, though no official announcement has been made and government decision-makers remain tight-lipped about details.

Still, the prospects of Indonesia becoming a global hub for battery production in the electric vehicle (EV) revolution, and a key link in the global supply chain, has already seen mining and nickel processing ramp up across the country.

Indonesia has vast resources of nickel - it has about a quarter of the entire world’s supply. It is an increasingly crucial metal in batteries due to its properties that enable mass energy capabilities. Macquarie Bank analysis estimates Indonesia could be the source of half the global supply of nickel and stainless steel within four years.

with the the abilities of toyota/lexus, merc, bm, audi just to name a few, is unlikely they are unable to catch up with tesla in EV.

Tesla current lead in ev is only temporary ... soon its fate will end up like other american brand car in world market when the others get serious. Tesla will eventually retreat and only sell in US :D

They are serious....seriously lagging behind ;)

To elaborate, you know like how an iphone is a "phone" compared to a nokia, but the phone component is just a small aspect of it?

Same for an electric "Car", other than sharing a chassis, wheels, brakes, the rest of the components actually makes a tesla a redesigned vehicle. So the same german/japanese engineers have difficulty transfering their "abilities" and skill-sets over, because their innovation in a combustion engine, ecu, drivetrain all cannot port over. Other than chassis design and interior furnishing, probably everything has to be re-learned.

Case in point bmw i3- mass market but lagging behind.bmw i8-overly complicated, expensive due to high production costs, poor production efficiency, nissan leaf-erm...well...yah, nissan leaf what more to say...

Add more points, the software eco system on TESLA with full self driving, OTA update and tons of AI assistance (forever learning to get smarter).

If you think of just adding battery, motor to a metal chassis to form a car, you are wrong.

Just think of the full self driving capabilities and applications.
-self valet parking,
-self drive to pickup point at hotel
-self care sending the car itself to do maintenance or checkup
-Self drive to pick up old folks
-self drive to pickup Mistress/girl friends to "hotel",
-making money to self pickup passenger while you are not using the car
-Self drive to super charger station to get charge up and return
-self drive to get car washing.
-replace drunk driving

There should have a common standard for all EVs will self drive assistance to communicate to each other, overtime full self drive car will be safer than human driver.
Tesla should first to implement this Tesla to Tesla communication

thanks for sharing the interesting points.
whilst i'm bullish in TSLA, but eVTOL industry is something that may be able to compete in the longer time frame.

The newest player in transportation technology is the electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft and its projected use for air taxis and urban air mobility (UAM).
