I like to believe the narrative that meet kelvin lucked out when he's timing the market. The war literally saved him.

The stock split is stock dividend? Do non us citizens get taxed on this since it's a "dividend"?

Yeah don’t get misled by the word "dividend", it's a split. E.g. if it's a 10 for 1 split, you will receive 9 extra shares for every 1 share you own as "dividend". Total value of your holding still stays the same.

Similarly the reverse can happen as in share consolidation. It happen to some of my SGX stocks before. 10 to 1 consolidation. For every 10 become 1 but total value of holding remain the same but the share price will rise up. Some oldbird told me some companies do this to boost their share price and attract new investors into buying this stock as some investor don't like "cheap share price" stock think it is unstable.

cos sometimes i dont even own more than1 share, ended up i got 0 out of the whole actions, so unfair!

Yes alot of such creative way is also to improving the market “pricing “
